Essendon Country Club

Essendon Country Club

Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire

Golfshake Rating: 4.09

Green Fees: From £70

Review Comment: "From the drive to the car park, to the warm reception at the front entrance, to the bacon roll to the warm-up, everything was perfect. We were playing the New Course which was in fantastic condition, all 18 holes offered a different challenge and was very fair off the yellows for our mid-handicap talents. The bar staff were lovely and over all we could not have had a better day."

Ombersley Golf Club

Location: Droitwich, Worcestershire

Golfshake Rating: 4.23

Review Comment: "This course holds up under all weather conditions. With many local courses closed for several weeks because of saturation from persistent rain, this course remained open on full tees and greens. Greens were in great condition."

Stratford Park Golf Club

Sweetwoods Park Golf Club

The Grove

The Grove

Location: Chandler's Cross, Hertfordshire

Golfshake Rating: 4.93

Green Fees: From £115

Review Comment: "What do you say about The Grove that hasn't been said before. It's one of those places that is always an absolute pleasure to visit, and the course is always a thrill to play. From the moment you arrive and are welcomed by the staff you're made to feel special. Everything you need is at your disposal, from balls at the pristine driving range, to chipping and bunker warm-up. The course itself is a treat, long from the silver or black tees, but the fairways are immaculate and the greens receptive and true. Although it's not a cheap round, it is well worth it!"

Springwater Golf Club

Springwater Golf Club

Aldwickbury Park Golf Club

Location: Harpenden, Hertfordshire

Golfshake Rating: 4.29

Green Fees: From £33

Review Comment: "My favourite Hertfordshire course. 18 very different holes in a parkland setting. Challenging at times, especially 12, 13 and 14. Bunkers a bit unpredictable. First nine down the hill along the bottom and then back up to the clubhouse. Second nine a bit more up and down. A course I keep coming back to."

The Epping Golf Course

The Epping

Location: Epping, Essex

Golfshake Rating: 4.00
