What the club says: World renowned golf course architect Rees Jones has successfully blended 18 strategically contoured holes into the surrounding countryside.
A relative rarity in Britain, the course has been designed in a modern American parkland style, and specifically as a potential venue for international golf tournaments.

Very expensive although that's the last thing on your mind once your playing, a great course and a design to rival all others. The par 5 17th is the feature hole here and is far to tempting not to go for it over the water. The greens are as true as you'll play in this country. If you feel like treating yourself once in a while this is it !! - Jun 14 2011

Golf Course Reviews for The Oxfordshire Golf, Hotel & Spa
For those that wish to play at a top course this is the one to play in Oxfordshire
A tough challenge, especially in 40mph winds but a thoroughly enjoyable one.
(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 93 Handicap: 19.4)
Was in good condition considering the recent weather, definitiely worth a visit
(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 14.3)
The variation of holes, including the short risk/reward par 4's, plotting your way between the bunkers and dog legs, the short par 3's with danger everywhere and the rolling contoured landscape either side of the fairways it just makes me smile the whole way round. I would happily pay the £70 a round to play this time and again but the fact you can get a twilight rate of £26 is borderline criminal.
Just go and play it!
Course has sprinkler system in place even on fairways.Best I have seen for any course in last 3 months.
(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 86 Handicap: 27.5)
With a lovely looking course with bunkers and water in abundance. Lots of risk/reward holes
(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 98 Handicap: 21.6)
The greens were perfect, the weather sunny and warm, the fairways were in good condition too. The pace was somewhat slow but expected for a Friday, clubhouse food and staff were nice as were the course staff. Overall a worthwhile course to challenge your positional play with water and bunkers a plenty.
(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 90 Handicap: )
Have played this course several times over the last 20 years and it's always a challenge with wind coming from different directions and the slopes on the excellent greens. Pity about the prices in the bar!!
(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 92 Handicap: 20)
Brilliant conditions .. the Course was in a quality condition.. fairways were in terrific condition along with the greens.. the difference in every hole keeps making u think about shots with the water around holes.. the definition in the course was brilliant I can’t speak highly enough of the place.. staff in the pro shop were friendly and very helpful too. brilliant
The rough is high and punishing, the greens were slow even before the rainstorm but it was still a very enjoyable day. Food is far too expensive as is the coffee's.
(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 110 Handicap: 23.4)
Visited as a group of 4. The course was superb. Very good design with loads of really interesting holes.
The hotel was ok - typical corporate hotel. Rooms fine.
Dinner was poor and breakfast awful. Why "decent" hotels have to serve truly horrible breakfast buffets always beats me
Played on a Sunday afternoon in a 2 ball. The pace was glacial particularly front 9 with waits on tee of 10 - 15 minutes and frankly there were a number of players who have no place on a course particularly one that can be as challenging as this. Having played through a few groups on Front 9 we were able to get round in just over 4hrs.
Layout is interesting particularly the Par 3s and 5s albeit the Yellow tees take some of the hazards more out of play. Course condition was OK - not I imagine what it used to be back in the day. In particular there were lots of divots in fairways indicating heavy use, a number of the bunkers were bare and the greens slower and bumpier than I was expecting. Perhaps this is result of the wet winter. Although It was good that no sense of course itself being damp despite a lot of rain yesterday.
Was still value for money getting a £30 twilight deal on teeofftimes but not sure Id have been happy spending more unless could guarantee a better pace of play.

With the snow in recent weeks followed by the rain almost every day since it was heavy going.
(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 10.7)
This course was better than I had expected, the greens were excellent for MArch and the course had some really interesting holes. The problem is its always very windy and it does make it all feel a bit tiring. Plus the food afterwards was very average
(Round played: Mar 2018 - Score: 99 Handicap: 18.6)
This is a very nice cource with some nice risk / reward holes.
Tee's, fairways and greens all in great condition considering the recent weather. Only issue, area's between tees/fairways/greens was very soggy and muddy, golf trolly had mud for wheels by the end of the round. Lovely course though, would love to play it again in the summer
(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 115 Handicap: 27.7)
(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 93 Handicap: 18.9)
This was our annual society end of season round with xmas lunch. As we went to the 1st team we were treated to a short blizzard which quickly passed and the round completed in glorious sunshine, althoung temperatures were very low throughout the day. There were some parts of the course that were slightly waterlogged and some of the greens had been worked on and putts were take off line by grooves in the surface. But for the time of year and recent weather the course played well although long due to a very strong westerly wind. Hopefully weather will be warmer when we return in June 18.
