Water comes into play on a number of holes, with two pars 3's over water, the 11th having water all down the right hand side, and the 8th and 17th both having their fairways running alongside lakes. The 17th throws in an interesting challenge for longer hitters, with a shorter route to the green for those willing to go over the water to a fairway on the other side.
I played here during one of the wettest winters ever, but even though it was a little wet underfoot in places, the tees and greens were in excellent condition.
Downsides? I thought the hotel and bars were a little sterile, but that's probably me being picky.
There was a good welcome in the pro shop, and it was just the start of a really enjoyable round. I recommend you come here and experience The Oxfordshire for yourself.

Keep clear
Bland and uninteresting, check in was slow and uninspiring. Rooms were ok but they knew w people were sharing but only put enough shower gel and coffee for one. Heating was off and small inefficient fan heater placed in room. Draught beer not available on 3 different ocassions, when back on it was of poor quality and vastly overpriced. Golf course was more swamp like and shouldn’t have been open, greens had been slit (they didn’t tell us) halfway house guy very friendly but again overpriced. I could go on and on but you get the idea. Save your money.Reviewer Rating

lovely course
Just back from a 2 day / 1 night stay at the Oxfordshire - course was in great condition, hotel is good, food ok too.My only 'gripe' would be the beer selection on offer.
As an 'out of town' location you really need to have a decent selection of drinks for overnight guests, so surely you can get some decent 'ale' in the upstairs bar, even if you can't get it on draft then get a choice of some bottles of craft beer in.
You had 'old speckled hen' down stairs, a local brew, for example, but not upstairs. For a decent hotel I'd expect a choice of 5-6 craft beers in bottles, a couple of famous brands that people will like and maybe a couple of local brands that people may not have tried before.

Fantastic course worth visiting
Great course. No 2 holes are the same. Great varieties of holes, a fair amount of bunkers (some really big) and holes with water in play. Going up, going down, dogleg left or right. Tricky greens with lots of slopes and tiers. We were playing as a 2 balls and only had to wait a little at the end of the round. Rough is quite forgiving but if you stray to much you will struggle to find your ball or be able to play it. Really enjoyable experience.(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 84 Handicap: 8.1)

Great course but poor daytime facilities.
Two days of golf with work group. The course condition was fantastic with the exception of the bunkers which were hit and miss. Some nice and soft with others being rock hard. We stayed over night and accommodation and evening meal / service were great. The daytime bar was simply shocking. Meals and drinks missed, very very slow. Over an hour for a ham sandwich after finishing round.Reviewer Rating

Impeccable course!!
A true gem of a course. Some incredible holes, 8 and 17 really do leave an impression. When approaching the first tee, the visuals of the course are a sight for sore eyes. Very inviting first tee shot sets the tone for the round. Impeccable fairways and greens makes this course scoreable whilst also being challenging. Stay away from the thick rough and notably vast amount of bunkers and scoring can be low. As a mid-handicapper I would highly recommend this course for all abilities. I will most definitely be returning. Love the place!Reviewer Rating

fantastic stadium course
Fantastic American style stadium course with top of the range facilities. You will not go wrong with a round here, the course is challenging and will engage you mentally as well as physically. The layout will make you forget that you are playing in England. Five stars from top to bottomReviewer Rating

Good challenge but painful pace
Played on a Sunday afternoon in a 2 ball. The pace was glacial particularly front 9 with waits on tee of 10 - 15 minutes and frankly there were a number of players who have no place on a course particularly one that can be as challenging as this. Having played through a few groups on Front 9 we were able to get round in just over 4hrs.Layout is interesting particularly the Par 3s and 5s albeit the Yellow tees take some of the hazards more out of play. Course condition was OK - not I imagine what it used to be back in the day. In particular there were lots of divots in fairways indicating heavy use, a number of the bunkers were bare and the greens slower and bumpier than I was expecting. Perhaps this is result of the wet winter. Although It was good that no sense of course itself being damp despite a lot of rain yesterday.
Was still value for money getting a £30 twilight deal on teeofftimes but not sure Id have been happy spending more unless could guarantee a better pace of play.
