What a little gem!

I've read that this course is Surrey's best kept secret. Now I know why. It really is a little gem. Despite massive amounts of rain lately and frost on several mornings the greens were in superb condition and ran true. As I was told on the phone, 'no temporary greens here'. There was no squelch on the fairways either. Credit must go to the greenkeeping team who are clearly doing a great job on the course. They most certainly are. A flower bed round the 18th tee - nice touch guys! The course may be regarded as 'short' at only 5000 yards when compared to so-called championship courses, but there are subtle, and not so subtle, dog legs, with strategically placed trees and bunkers to navigate, so it can be described as more of a 'thinkers' course. It also means you don't have to be a Rory McIlroy off the tee to get to the greens in regulation. But you do have to place your tee shot well! Good course management is most certainly required It was sad to see some naughty golfers about who weren't respecting the course or the hard work the greenkeeping team. Clear wheel marks from push trolleys, and skid marks from powered trolleys, on banks leading to tees where there is a good hard pathway around to the steps - and only a few more paces to get there. The clubhouse may only be made of wood, but it was warm and cosy. Jack the steward was friendly, courteous and helpful. Nice seating area with big screen TV. Toilets and changing room spotlessly clean. And the coffee and a hot cross bun with butter, at a price you wont see in any other golf club I reckon (or tea room for that matter), was most welcome at the end of the round (it was very chilly day). Next time Full English breakfast and 18 holes I think. And only ?25 - what a bargain. I think I will be playing a lot more golf here. Keep up the great work guys!

Played in November after a period of heavy rain. Course was a bit soggy in places but pleased that there were no temporary greens or tees. Quite a short course but that doesn't mean you can boom a driver on every hole as there are lots of doglegs so positional play is important off many tees. Could do with a few more signs to the next tee and more fairway markers. Looking forward to playing again in the spring and summer.

An absolute gem of a course with interesting and intricate holes. You won’t need long drives very often but precision off the tee will be rewarded. The greens are improving every time I’ve beeb and were superb today. Staff were helpful and hospitable. Highly enjoyable and totally recommended.

The best value course in England?

Having travelled down to Surrey from South London to dump kids at hockey trials at Haslemere Hockey Club, we went in search of a local golf course, and found Chiddingfold on Google. We were instantly attracted to the incredibly reasonable green fees and the sound of the full English breakfast for an additional £3. And we were not disappointed. The welcome from Scott, who runs the course (and everything else by the sound of things), was lovely, and the course stunning. Not long, but intricate and testing, with a lot of trees and little dog-legs, cleverly designed by Peter Alliss (how do you spell his name?). The greens were immaculate, the fairways lush, the bunkers sandy. Just perfect. So perfect in fact that we are planning another visit next weekend.

If you don’t want the Rax Matax of a big clubhouse but just want a great conditioned golf course this is the place. We were amazed by the quality of the course. Amazed how they could produce this quality with such a small clubhouse. We will be back frequently!

Well worth the effort.

A gem of a course - not long but demanding, in excellent condition. Despite the greens having just been dressed they were immaculate & ran true. Chiddingfold is a credit to golf - you must give it a try.

Manager is Magic

One of the best kept courses I have played
Low teen handicap and it tests me every time
Not long but definitely a thinkers course
The greens are fantastic, great definition on the fairways, and the rough will punish wayward shots
Best value ever, and really friendly
Will always return

Best course for £20 by a country mile!

Incredible how they keep this course in such condition for the price. The greens in particular were a huge credit to the team and compare well to any others in Surrey (and i say that having played St Georges Hill a month ago)
The course is short but always interesting, every hole had something to make you think.
Will be back asap, great day all round.

Their slogan is the best kept secret in Surrey, not after I’ve finished telling all my friends about this beautiful course. The greens are immaculate. They were even working on improving the pathways whilst we were there playing. See you again shortly.

I was truly stunned. I expressed my gratitude of this hard work to Scott Brown, the very experienced Pro and true gent when it comes to customer service.

The course is in impeccable condition, the green are the best I have ever seen.

Thank you Scott and all the staff, keep up the great work!!

A very good course which is excellent value for money and very friendly. The holes are interesting with a lot of ups and downs and taxing side slopes which call for accuracy but not necessarily length. This for a lady is a chance to compete realistically with the longer hitting men!
