Great little course and terrific value for money
Have been playing Chiddingfold for two or three years at least a couple of times a month and seen it go from strength to strength. Although not having the facilities of larger clubs they make up for this being very friendly and are always working to improve all aspects of the course. The latest course project is working on some of the bunkers and taking one or two out of play. Also there are plans for expanding the clubhouse.
Best value around in Sussex/Surrey. One of our regular society venues.
Not the longest course but one you have to think your way around. The 16th is especially challenging.
Not great on practice facilities but given that up long ago!
If you are a single handicapper you might be a bit sniffy about the course, the rest of us just enjoy it.

Despite recent heavy rain the course was in fine condition, and in particular the greens were excellent.

friendly tight little course
This is a small golf club with 18 holes to 4821 yds of the yellows so pretty short. to make this length of course work there are several dog leg holes, ditches etc placed to make you think. The course was in OK condition with the greens recently sanded and there were bare patches everywhere due to scorching of the ground no doubt. very scenic course with mature trees and good value at £20 per round. the clubhouse is basic and is contained in a large portacabin/shed structure. However it is adequate for the purpose and the staff were cheerful and helpful,(Round played: Sep 2020 - Score: 91 Handicap: 14.1)

Stunning greens! Played golf for years in Uk and these are some of the best I’ve ever seen. Not a long course however playing in 3 hours on perfect greens makes it a great experience. Best around by miles.Reviewer Rating

Lock down return
As many emerged from Covid 19 to play one of my favourite courses. Condition was as usual very good (maybe a bit if work to do on the 9th green, bit patchy).Decided to join as a member this year as it has to be best value around. There are closer clubs to home, but Chidders offers great friendly service and a course where everyone takes pride in the course.
Best way I can describe it, ideal balance between a golf course and a golf club and I am sure most people will know what I mean.

What a little gem!
I've read that this course is Surrey's best kept secret. Now I know why. It really is a little gem. Despite massive amounts of rain lately and frost on several mornings the greens were in superb condition and ran true. As I was told on the phone, 'no temporary greens here'. There was no squelch on the fairways either. Credit must go to the greenkeeping team who are clearly doing a great job on the course. They most certainly are. A flower bed round the 18th tee - nice touch guys! The course may be regarded as 'short' at only 5000 yards when compared to so-called championship courses, but there are subtle, and not so subtle, dog legs, with strategically placed trees and bunkers to navigate, so it can be described as more of a 'thinkers' course. It also means you don't have to be a Rory McIlroy off the tee to get to the greens in regulation. But you do have to place your tee shot well! Good course management is most certainly required It was sad to see some naughty golfers about who weren't respecting the course or the hard work the greenkeeping team. Clear wheel marks from push trolleys, and skid marks from powered trolleys, on banks leading to tees where there is a good hard pathway around to the steps - and only a few more paces to get there. The clubhouse may only be made of wood, but it was warm and cosy. Jack the steward was friendly, courteous and helpful. Nice seating area with big screen TV. Toilets and changing room spotlessly clean. And the coffee and a hot cross bun with butter, at a price you wont see in any other golf club I reckon (or tea room for that matter), was most welcome at the end of the round (it was very chilly day). Next time Full English breakfast and 18 holes I think. And only ?25 - what a bargain. I think I will be playing a lot more golf here. Keep up the great work guys!Reviewer Rating
