What the club says: Essendon Country Club (formerly known as Hatfield London) is situated in Bedwell Park in the scenic, rolling countryside of rural Hertfordshire in the South East of England. With two beautiful 18-hole parkland golf courses, a 9 hole pitch & putt, and two grass practice and teaching grounds. On the 7,090 yard course the 4th tee of 650 yards is one of the longest in the country.

A GOOD CHALLENGE FOR GOLFERS OF ALL HANDICAPS

Played the Old Course last weekend. Very nice course and enjoyed the round. It has a really good mix of holes, the course has a nice layout and the lovely woodland surrounding some of the holes makes it feel very secluded and peaceful. Great views off the 6th and 18th. The greens were quite slow but still in decent condition and the course was well signed. Would definitely recommend.

Played on the new course for the very first time I\'ll be coming back when the weather picks up fairways and greens need a little of work on them great views and some nice looking holes ,staff very helpful great price on the membership for two courses on site.

Booked for 3 ball on line. £20 instead of £30. Tried to add a 4th player when at the club. They wanted to charge £30 for the 4th player since he didn\'t use the online deal. We said we\'d amend the online booking to add the 4th player and get the £20 deal. They were ok with that. The new owners seem to be a bit too Beaurocratic. This on a day when there were about 4 groups out on the course and it was raining with the prospect of sleet and snow. They obviously don\'t need the money if they are happy to risk losing a sale through such inflexiblity

course was very wet and boggy greens were in a terrible condition lots of bare patches and moss worse i have played on for a long time like a municipal pitch and putt course

Great layout and an interesting, challenging but fair test of golf off white tees. Got away with a few wayward tee shots and kept the same ball till the 18th (d\'oh!). Course in reasonable condition considering all the rain and was pretty empty. Greens however were slow and patchy. I\'m sure it\'s better in the Spring. Went for the breakfast and 1 round deal which was good value for money. Overall it\'s a smart place with good and immaculately clean facilities and friendly and professional staff. The \"practice area\" is a bit noddy but that\'s the only real criticism. Would definitely play again when it\'s not quite as wet.
