Brookmans Park Golf Club
The first 9 holes of the 6,473 yard par 71 woodland course take you around the outer perimeter of the course. Out of bounds plays a distinctive feature of all the holes from the 3rd around to the 9th. The 3rd is a feature hole, with magnificent views from the back tees over a gentle valley and the spire of St Albans cathedral visible on a clear summer evening, leads players to a challenging multi-tiered green. The 5th has the infamous Mirror pond ready to trap only the longest of drives or errant second shots.
The second 9 holes starts with an inviting downhill drive between mature oak tress towards the lakeside green and the 11th is another signature hole. With mostly water between tee and green, trees behind the back of the 11th green and deceptively deep bunkers protect a green that has rewarded some with a memorable hole-in-one. The last 3 holes, 16th, 17th and 18th are recognised by many of the clubs’ players as one of the toughest finishing stretches in the area. The 18th requires a long, straight drive to the bottom of a gentle valley to set up a challenging uphill, mid iron shot to a green protected by a well placed cross bunker and step sided greenside bunkers. Par on the 18th is an excellent way to complete a round of golf on one of Hertfordshire’s finest courses.Contact Information

Played here twice now as it's the venue for our London Managers Autumn Meeting. Really like the course which has some quite a few interesting holes. One of these days I'll do it justice! Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't play as long as it's members think it does!

This is a really nice course.
The tees, fairways, greens and bunkers were in a very good condition.
Some really nice holes to play.
A couple of the holes run along the back of some houses, so it looks a bit like Wentworth!
I was told that it can be a bit snooty but I didn't have any problems.

Having been a member of a private club since 1977, I felt I needed a change. Brookmans Park brings back memories of a golf club being like a club, run as a club for its members and not just a business. The course is immaculate and new members are warmly welcomed.
