What the club says: The Griffin course was originally designed as a 9-hole, but quickly took shape with another 9-holes following almost immediately. The course is noticeable for its lack of bunkers as it benefits from a combination of tricky tight fairways and small greens, requiring accurate golf to make a score here. A person who thinks their way around can really make the most of the shorter par fours and avoiding the water is always a good play.

The Phoenix course is the smaller of the two courses and offers a great introduction to golf with some easier holes as well as a test for the more complete golfer. Both courses wind through tree lined areas but the Phoenix has a more open middle section to allow players a bit of freedom.

Excellent 9 Hole course

This is a interesting and challenging 9 hole course with 3 par 3's and some quite long par 4's so for those who struggle to play 18 holes this is a great course. I enjoyed my first attempt at this course a lot but the 300 long waiting list is another challenge. I would seriously consider 9 hole membership of the Phoenix Course if it was made available.

Haven't played here for a couple of years. Greens and fairways in good condition. 9th tee on Phoenix has moved since then and is further down the path. Still a nice venue.

Hidden gem in the Peak District

Course in excellent condition. Really good. Many trees have been cleared in the last 20 years. Cesspit no longer stinks.

Excellent

Course in very good condition, especially the greens, some very interesting holes and good course management a must. The only gripe we had as a four ball of experienced golfers was pace of play, not helped by no one other than us using the mandatory calling through procedure on the par 3s. I think 41/2 hour plus rounds are the norm!

Something for everyone long holes for bigger hitters, more challenging holes for those that like to plot their way round.

Really nice greens and fairways.but really over booked.over 5hrs to get round.lots of tees near greens.with it so busy I always felt like I was going to get hit by stray balls.I've not heard so many balls being pinged off the trees near us,on a round before!very tight in places.

Good course but bit of a walk so would recommend a trolley at least- especially if playing off the whites.

Cold December - very popular still.

The course was muddy despite the recent month rest, lots of people still wanting to play Golf in it though. Greens looked great for December. Still currently under Tier 2 restrictions here.

Rapid greens

Enjoyable tree lined course (played the Griffin course). Not a long course but the greens were in very good condition but they were very firm and lightning fast so very tough holding greens.
