What the club says: Set within the magnificent wooded countryside of the High Weald of Sussex adjoining Tilgate Forest Park, this outstanding location offers unparalleled views. The park covers some 400 acres and was once part of the Tilgate Estate, which covered much of the surrounding area. Tilgate Forest is now classified as a country park and conservation area with golf being just one of the many activities on offer.

Sunny day on a picturesque course
Some golfers view Tilgate as a difficult and narrow course. Whilst this is arguably true, a round under the sun walking through a lovely forest is a joy, and I love this course!Reviewer Rating

Much improved after alterations
A couple of smaller greens and looks like drainage issues addressed. Quite a few dog legs and blind at that. But course looked in good condition. Bunkers looked like they had sand in them and certain was sand in the new one on the 7thReviewer Rating

Played here today for £18 on a weekend and it was great value. I haven't played here for two years but have to say the improvement was great, this was really clear to see especially on the greens. Hope they keep up the great work as I will be back.Reviewer Rating

Golf in the mist
Played the course in the mist last weekend, course was in better condition than expected. Yes, about a third of the greens were temporary, and poorly maintained, however the rest of the greens were in good condition and ran true. Pity my putting wasn't up to scratch! Yes, the course was muddy in places, but where isn't after the recent spell of rain? Generally the course was fine and I look forward to playing there again soon.Reviewer Rating

Very badly maintained greens not cut and very bumpy no information for the temp greens so didn't know they were in play till you got to them. Won't play ever again.(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 112 Handicap: )

Dont play early!!
Dog walkers all over course, throwing balls and sticks for dogs on fairways. Cant see how that is safe. This could be a great venue but a golf course should be that and not a dog exercise site. Course is not in best condition but considering the weather we have had in the last six months could be worse. Ground staff could be a bit more aware of players waiting to play while they have a chat and smoke on the greensReviewer Rating
