What The Club Says
IGC was established in 1927 and has, since that time, proven to be one of the most attractive and challenging tests of golf in the county of Sussex. The golf course itself, has changed little since its inception and measures over 6,300 yards from the back tees. No matter if you are playing from the whites, yellow or red tees the design of the course ensures that is has stood the test of time and offers a good challenge to all levels of ability.

Last year for Ifield
The club will be 100 years old in 2027 but it's due to close in April. Sad as it's a course that gives all golfers of whatever standard a real test. Welcoming and hospitable in every respect - it will be sorely missed so get along and play it one last time - it's well worth it!Reviewer Rating

Get there fast.....
This course is due to close at the end of 2026 and you should make every attempt to play it before then because it really is a fabulous place.I'd actually never heard of it before and how badly I regret that, because I'm sure i would have played it many, many times.
There are so many "wow!" moments.
The 5th, 6th and 7th are a fantastic combination of strength, strategy and skill. Then the 8th opens up like a four lane highway, leading to the 9th. A 241 yard par three, down hill, over water. Boom!!
The 10th over the hill and down the other other side is a joy, good holes, they just keep coming.
The closure is a crime against golf and golfers. Such a shame that the owners have taken the developer's silver. Despite this, the course is in really brilliant condition, especially the greens and bunkers. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and the food was amazing.
I'm going to do my best to get back here before it's too late.

Nice and Friendly
Hot weather recently and the course has been well used. £44 is also a bit steep for a PM tee off. Staff are always great here.Reviewer Rating
