18 Golf Holes That Could Ruin Your Scorecard

Everyone has that one hole that invariably threatens to ruin their scorecard, when even on the best days it ominously looms in your mind. This is true for all golfers, including single handicap players, as we have discovered when analysing the Golfshake Score Tracker.
The Road Hole at St Andrews and 12th at Augusta National are two of the most iconic card wreckers, but what about those found on lesser known venues in the UK?
Looking at rounds tracked during 2019 and 2020, we have studied scores posted by golfers with handicaps between 2 and 9, who shot rounds between 70 and 86, to identify the holes that this limited demographic of player have found difficult, playing significantly over par.
Each of the courses featured had at least ten eligible rounds submitted, making for a decent sample of data.
