What the club says: The Ridge Golf Club is a 6,242 yard course was designed by Patrick Dawson, architect of the Belfry. The superb views over The Weald and the layout, including 20,000 established trees, give the course a mature interesting feel.

Very nice
The Ridge is a very nice course and I enjoyed playing it for the first time. Like many courses it is quite dry although the greens are in really good shape and it presents some good challenges.Reviewer Rating

Excellent
A terrific course and superb clubhouse. If you like dog legs you'll love this place. There's around 8 of them. That said, it just makes you work out a way round. Greens we top notch. Quick and true, but with plenty of subtle breaks.
Club house is pretty impressive, staff are very friendly.

Lovely setting that looks better each time
The new owners continue to improve both the clubhouse and the course. The tees let it down as most need levelling and reseeding. It is a little high on price compared to similar standard courses in this part of the county.Reviewer Rating

:ovely Parkland Course
Lovely course in beautiful countryside. Not too long but many doglegs - particularly on front 9 - where judging distance is important. Takes a long and accurate drive to cut the corners. Straying off the fairways can often be less disastrous than other courses - there is no heavy rough, the trees are generally well spaced, and playing from an adjacent fairway is often not too difficult. The greens seemed to have been heavily sanded within the past day or two.
We did have a slight argument with the reception when they charged us more than their own website said and more than the price list on the desk in front of us! But refunded £10.

Big changes
This set up has changed a lot since we last played here - an 18 hole Crazy Golf is a fun new addition. The clubhouse looks great and the staff are on the ball. Out on the course there has been a lot of tree felling that allows some great views across the course. the greens were in very good condition. We are hoping that when we next visit the good work will have moved on to the tee areas (some are still very uneven) and sorted out the bunkers (went in a few and not much sand to speak of).
But overall a lovely looking course.

Not good enough for what it wants to be
Played here with a friend that’s a member for £35! Shocking the tees were in awful condition, the fairways were either like the 1st cut of rough at a good course or bare dirt, the bunkers should’ve all been GUR as they were horrific, it’s not the time of year as this isn’t at other local courses. It seems this club wants to look good (new pro shop &clubhouse) but not have a course that reflects that. With its location I’m surprised it’s still going as there are so many better courses around (Chart Hills, Bearsted, Tudor Park, the Weald of Kent, in fact just go to Leeds castle and do the 9 holes twice!). £35 for a guest rates outrageous considering it’s one of the worse kept courses I’ve played, and that I’ve played as a guest a courses like crowborogh beacon, littlestone, Canterbury, royal Wimbledon for £35. Then found out they charge £90 for membership! It could be good with an owner/management willing to put it into the course and my friends excuses about Vovid can’t apply as other courses aren’t like this. Honestly the site should either be sold to someone that actually wants a good course or sold to build houses instead of this excuse for a course.

Looking good
This club has seen a lot of changes since lockdown began - the extension to the clubhouse is very good, but there have been noticeable changes out on the course. Tees are level, the greens are in great condition and areas off the fairways have been tidied. All in all, great steps forward, a good place to visit although green fees for visitors is a little on the high side at over £30.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 91 Handicap: 17.1)

Disappointed
Looks like the course wasn't looked after during the lockdown. Fairways were rock hard and the greens need a lot of watering and attention.Reviewer Rating
