Awesome, what a difference a few weeks make

I have played The Ridge golf course several times this year and thought that it was in poor state, the rough and clover was running out of control... but when I turned up this time even before I entered the club house it felt and looked different.. I was greeted with laughed from the club house which I had never heard before. once I had entered the club house I was welcomed with a very polite and friendly staff member. I was informed that the Club had new ownership and they would appreciate my feed back once i finished...\I did not play very well but what a difference a few weeks make, the course was well defined, rough was under control and no sign of clover. for the first time the greens actually held a ball when struck properly... work was being done on the bunkers (this course has always had problems with bunkers) I spoke to one of the green keepers and he told me they were putting sand into the bunkers for a quick fix but they also have a plan to renovate all the bunkers over the next 5 years or so.\If this is the difference in a couple of weeks I can not wait to play it in a few months....

Joined the club in July this year and have no regrets. The course has numerous dog legs which makes it very challenging. In order to score well you have to think seriously about every shot you play. The greens are very undulating which makes it a stern test. All of the staff that work at the course are always cheerful and most helpful.

Looking good

This club has seen a lot of changes since lockdown began - the extension to the clubhouse is very good, but there have been noticeable changes out on the course. Tees are level, the greens are in great condition and areas off the fairways have been tidied. All in all, great steps forward, a good place to visit although green fees for visitors is a little on the high side at over £30.

Lovely course that is going through a lot of changes, all for the good. Development of the club house will be complete soon and looks to be very good. The course is set out really well and is being worked on. All round a good up & coming course under progressive new management.

So many other options. Staff are uninterested and unhelpful - seemly only bothered that you pay and then allow them to daydream about something else. The greenskeeping staff need educating/firing as the greens were shocking, I\'ve putted on temporary green with shorter grass. The clubhouse shuts way before it should - especially when there\'s paying guests still on the course. Also having a family with a quad bike on the greens/fairways on the course made my blood boil.\The biggest issue is that this could be a fantastic course. Chart Hills, The Weald of Kent, Tudor Park, Cobtree Manor, Ashford, Tenterden, Bearstead, West Malling, Kings Hill to name a few that are in proximity and are either a/ miles better or b/ provide better value for money. \Terrible and unless I hear that they are under new management or ownership I refuse to go back.\I can\'t believe people think this is of standard and actually choose to return.

This course seems to be very tired and in disrepair, almost as hope has been lost. Potentially it could be amazing, there are some lovely holes especially around the turn.

I found the bunkers to be lacking in sand, almost like concrete in places, and the greens were woeful, especially the pitch marks that have been left. I would guess that the players show about as much respect to the course as the staff do.

The sad thing as I have already said is the potential the Course has. It could be amazing. I have played here about 15 times in the last year in the hope that it could be improved on, but I honestly don't see that ever happening. It is very cheap, unfortunately, in this case, you get what you pay for.

I have never shot more than an 87 here of off a 17
