What the club says: Ogbourne Downs Golf Club is one of the finest Downland Golf Courses in Wiltshire. The Course, designed by five time Open Championship winner J.H. Taylor, is set amidst 200 acres of glorious downland terrain. Innate contours, natural valley’s and sweeping undulations make for a fantastic test of golf.

Ogbourne reciprocal
We played on a reciprocal agreement with West.Wilts GC. The initial booking in was very easy with Simon in tne pro shop being very friendly and welcoming The course was in very good condition with exceptional greens given the time of year and the very hot summer.We stayed for a drink and a chat following the golf and the bar staff were friendly, overall a great day out .

Not impressed!!
For the price you pay it is not good. Greens are terrible and anything off the fairway is like a playing field. Tee boxes are very unloved, and the overall condition is just not good at all. Members are rude and moan about the pace of play, even though we played as a 4 ball in under 4 hours. Some pretty challenging holes...Reviewer Rating

Ogbourne always in great condition in spite of any weather. Greens very true. Doing some work on a couple of tees to further improve. Windiest ever played it today, so a big challenge. Good breakfast service!

What a course, Stunning to play at any time of the year. Drainage is amazing, views are fantastic, a real challenge on the hills but I do enjoy it for every reason

Winter wonderland
Great round on a great course. Not the easiest and feels like there's hardly a flat lie to be played, but considering the weather the course is in immaculate condition.Stunning location, superb views and friendly people.

Course in great condition. Bunkers full of good sand which helps when in trouble. Greens immaculate and very difficult to read - challenging. Great views. Pace of play excellent. Clubhouse and pro shop very friendly, with plenty of food options.

If you like your golf windy and hilly...
Probably the best value 18 course near to the M4. Great variety of terrain and wonderful views from many holes. Good value for your drives on this ancient downland turf. Enthusiastic staff and a nice clubhouse.Reviewer Rating

Ogbourne Downs has everything in place for a great day of golf. The fairways, tees and greens are all in very decent condition, there's an excellent practice area, and a very pleasant clubhouse.
Be warned that both 9's involve a fair amount if climbing, and on a windy day there's little to protect you from the elements, but the views and the course are worth it.
While I think that this is a course that can be played by all handicaps, the sloping fairways and numerous raised greens mean you'll need to play well to score low.
While there are a few contenders, my favourite is easily the par five 14th, which doglegs left and downhill through a small valley. All courses should have holes this nice.

Course was totally dry and in great condition. Greens have been better but considering the time of year and work that has been done we had no complaints. Got round super fast too

Great course with lots of interesting holes. Greens very true and fast. Fairways excellent, first cut of rough a bit tricky though. The only negative about the day was the slow play, nearly 5 hours, waiting on a very slow 4 ball in front which we had caught after a 2 ball got fed up and finished after 9 holes. Will always play here.

Challenging links like course inland.
With its undulating hills, this course challenges at almost every hole. Set around the Marlborough Downs, you'll get some great views and plenty of wildlife, including numerous Red Kites and Buzzards. Permanent tees and greens all year round, no matter what the weather is. It's excellently maintained and one of the best kept secrets around the county. You won't be disappointed.Reviewer Rating

Even better "Post Lockdown"
The work carried out by greenkeepers during the lockdown has seen Ogbourne Downs improve immensely. The newly defined fairways & greens approach enhance the features. Never get bored with playing this course as the weather conditions ensure each game is different.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 90 Handicap: 12)
