What the club says: The new 'Oaks' golf course at Horsham Golf is nestled in the picturesque setting of Denne Hill, Horsham, West Sussex and will be available for limited use in November 2014 (9 holes) to our Members, new & old. Various categories of memberships will available in the summer of 2015 upon the arival of the full course layout, together with golf society days and pay & play access. Our practise facilities include a lit and heated covered 18 bay golf range with a dedicated coaching team under the watchful eye of the Mike Yorke Golf Academy, thus ensuring that we offer the full golfing package to visitors and members alike.

First time round here. Nice course and good value at twilight rates. Interesting variety of holes and the first is a good opening par 5. Greens were decent. Little dry in places but unsurprising given current weather. Slightly odd finish with 2 par 3's and short par 4 in the final 3 holes. Had a decent pint post round prior to the bar closing.

Interesting course and even in wet weather the ground coped. Usually I have found it not too busy. Today however it was very full. To be expected on a Sunday, but as we came to 14th tee a three ball had already teed off and cut in. They were not very good players and also slow. What sort of Club etiquette allows this behaviour? It is unacceptable to cut in unless there is a clear hole gap (which there wasn’t) and you then keep up with the game in front (which they didn’t).

British Weather
Lots of rain previously and the course was closed yesterday. Buggies and Trolleys to path only which is fair enough. Course was in reasonable condition especially the greens. Looking forward to getting some sun soon.Reviewer Rating

Considering the amount of rain we have had over the last year the course was in ok condition, they are/have done a lot of maintenance recently and it's helping.

Most Odd
The half way but is at the 8th tee. No 9-hole option. Don't really seem interested in those of us who have disabilities. I hired a buggy so managed 18 holes. The 9-hole course is rarely open not prepared to allow people to play back 9 even at 9am!Reviewer Rating

Fantastic society day golfing experience

Excellently presented course despite the soaked ground on the day. Really pretty course. Loads of interesting holes.Clubhouse staff really welcoming.

A well laid out course providing a mixture of narrow and more open fairways to suit different playing levels. The course always seems to be well maintained and the greens play well. The staff are all very friendly. I always enjoy playing there.

The oaks is a decent course, well maintained so was playable even during the hot spell we had and a short 9 hole par 3 course. The Oaks is fairly short but some tight tee shots mean a score destroyer is only a bad shot away.Practice facilities are good with chipping and putting green, also a driving range with interactive computer screens, sadly now only 50yards long and fully netted .
Good well stocked pro shop.
The problem is the club house , it's just a bit depressing , dated and small ,so is the outside space jammed in between a fence and the wall. It's not the place to relax with a drink afterwards while watching the other golfers finish although it could be, there?s plenty of space.

Nice course
A great Golf Course and nice layout. Would have been nice if the Halfway Hut was open today as it was boiling, The recent heatwave and lack of water has taken it's toll on some of the course but they have made sure the greens are still in good condition. Still a great club shop which is well stocked, a great driving range and practice facilities and good food and drink for after. Enjoyable round.Reviewer Rating

Tempts you to go big but not always best option
This Oaks is a nice course. It has a tendency to tempt you to go big when you are best not to. For example, it looks like a hole perfect for a long drive, but, in fact you are best taking a long 3 wood. Also note, fairways look nice and wide on some holes but they are not as wide as they look. Play for accuracy rather than distance and a good round should be yours for the taking.(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 110 Handicap: 30.7)
