What the club says: Eltham Warren Golf Club, founded in 1890, is one of England’s oldest nine hole courses, and is situated on the outskirts of Eltham, South East London. Our course was designed by renowned architect and five-time Open champion James Braid and has a local reputation for being maintained in top condition throughout the year, with many interesting features such as strategically placed ponds, ditches, bunkers and rare mature trees, some of which are centuries old. It is a good test of golf for players of all abilities.

Great course a stones throw from central LondonGreat course, I had always dismissed playing as it was ?only 9 holes? with 18 tee boxes, however I?m glad I?ve played now played here a few times as its a tricky & tight course with no easy hole and you will do well to play to your handicap.. Most holes demand an accurate tee shot to find the narrow fairways. Finding the fairway is key and you will need to be hitting from the short grass in order to hold the small but receptive greens. The greens were not overly fast but were running true. The Pro was very friendly and members in the bar were most welcoming. Eltham Warren is now on my rota of courses to play.
Great value round, good pace and tight varied challenge.
Great little course with lots of variety and tight holes.Looks easy on paper but you have to be straight off the tee and accurate into the greens as lots of dnager close by. Just wish they could invest in some more sand as the bunkers are generally filled with nasty dry same and lots of stones.
A little gemLovely little 9 holes course with a great lay out and challenging holes. A monster 240y par 3 and a lovely staff. Highly recommended

The course is a little gem, yes it's only 9 holes, but they are all great holes. You can play 18 holes and not get 9 holes as fabulous as these. The fairways and greens were excellent. It's real tricky little course, with some fantastically tricky greens.
After the round I enjoyed a reasonably priced pint, like the course, the clubhouse is not big modern and brash, but warm friendly. I heard a great story in the bar, that sums this tricky little course up. There was a +1 handicapper, that was -4 after 15 holes. He gets to the 16th, which would be a 6 iron and a gap wedge, instead he tries to hit the green with a driver. He finished his round +4.
At £30 a day (they only do day rate) it could seem a bit pricey, but the greens, fairways, and course layout are that good, it's well worth it.
It's nice and local to me, with the great course, nice beer, and friendly members, I'm giving it some serious consideration.
