What the club says: Frilford Heath Golf Club has three 18 hole courses offering a range of delights. With almost a hundred years of golf design heritage, players can choose a classic or modern challenge as they see fit. The Red Course was laid out in 1908 by five times Open champion JH Taylor. At over 6,800 yards, the Red course will be a test of any golfer’s skills. The Green Course
may be the shortest, at just over 6,000 yards, but playing to a stiff par of 69, it is no pushover. The Blue Course was opened in 1994, and was designed by Simon Gidman. The course has a more modern, open look, with a number of water hazards threatening, notably on the early holes.

Frilford Green

Lovely course, played off the whites which makes it a bit more of a challenge. Great condition, greens as smooth as any I've played on. Very enjoyable round

Tough course (Blue)

Really need to be playing with someone who knows their way round. Pretty tough feeling ones way round various doglegs and hazards unseen. One of the more expensive courses to play locally as a member's guest.

I've heard a lot of positive comments about this course and I wasn't disappointed having now had the chance to play it, the course was in good condition with penal rough if you stray off line and the greens was very tricky with a lot of suttle brakes that you didn't always see.

Fantastic course

Challenging course; the first four holes are a "card wrecker" even for members.
The back nine holes on the Blue Course are my favourite of the three courses at Frilford.

Always a pleasure

Played several times on each of the 3 courses - the place overall just gets better and better. New pro-shop adds to the experience now, greens were excellent and (as i played with a member) it was brilliant value for money. Would highly recommend.

Stunning course

Fantastic visit to Frilford as a members guest. Have struggled to play any courses that are not wet and enjoyable... until now. Amazing condition, ball bounce and ran on the fairways and the greens were still lightening quick.

What a joy to play. Very friendly and welcoming club

Not having played the course before I was looking forward to my visit but if I am being honest I was a little underwhelmed. I played the red course - some good challenging holes, very good greens and well positioned fairway bunkers; I wanted to love it but nothing particularly stood out. The course currently has I think a badger problem with significant and unsightly damage to a number of holes. These areas should be marked as GUR but that was not the case (this could be forgiven in the current climate if they do not have the manpower).

Return after 47 years.

Last played here in ?73 so didn't really remember the layout. Played the Red Course, twice. The course is in superb condition. the greens were exceptional. My first round was a bit of a mixture (32pts), but coped better in the afternoon (36pts). Maybe tiredness and being an old bloke made me concentrate more?
I don't think I?ll wait 47 years till I play here again.
The facilities were excellent, with all the COVID-19 restrictions in place.

Great course

Green is always in good shape. Drains so well and although shorter than blue or red it offers a great test and some tough decisions

Blue course Jan 2020

Possibly the "Most challenging" of Frilford Heaths 3 courses...pretty long for me 24hcap..but a great course which is fair ...good condition considering the recent downpours we have had...with only a little standing water. I played pretty good and managed 32pts ..
?30 guest fee when playing with a member...club house undergoing refurbishment at present but can still be a bit "old school"...for me not the place to come if arranging a society..but to play with a member worth doing.

Big improvements.

Played recently after a 12 month gap. Amazing changes in terms of the new pro shop and 'mansions? built as you enter the complex. A course clearly on the up, course conditions excellent (on all 3 courses I'm told) - wish I lived closer to ply there more regularly.
