What the club says: Fairways and greens encourage golfers to employ their 'Course Management' skills. The course provides a challenge to match the demands of open competition, company days, golf societies or group organisers.
The 3rd hole is undoubtedly the feature hole and we recommend a look at the Panoramic views of Oxford city and the surrounding area.

Just excellent
The course looks in great condition and the range facilities exactly what you need for this standard of course. Can't wait to visit!

great views over the city

Not great - but cheap at twighlight
Booked a twilight tee time which was very well priced. Really nice people working there. No balls were available for the range when we arrived which was disappointing.Lots of the tees were on fairways not on tee boxes and they were rock hard and sandy with lots of deep divots which had not been replaced. Greens were surprisingly slow and wet considering the weather (30 degrees in August) and fairways were mixed, some great lush green and trimmed some rock hard dying grass and grass cuttings left out
Overall - cheap and cheerful golf with a nice layout of holes and some great views and really welcoming staff with cold beer on tap. A good one to go round with some beginners wanting a quick round

Good parkland course
This is good parkland course - but if your looking for a flat lie you need to be accurate.

Scenic course offers a good challenge
Course is looking the best it has done for a few years. Greens, fairways and light rough are all well-maintained, thanks to the tireless efforts of the greenkeepers. Some more bunkers have been brought back into play. The bunkers at Hinksey will never be great without the sort of investment the club just doesn't have. However, it's good to have more bunkers at least playable. The views remain one of the most attractive features of the course. If you haven't tried it, give it a whirl. It's a friendly, un-stuffy club and well worth a visit.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 96 Handicap: 24)

Fantastic
Lovely course shame that the bunkers where mostly under repair , other than that nice track bit hilly(Round played: May 2020 - Score: 103 Handicap: 12.8)

Hinksey heights 28-5-2020
In the middle of Covid 19 outbreak and this was 1st game of golf this year but it was a very pleasurable day...Reception staff were courteous, course was in a neat and excellent condition and with warm weather prevailing the ball ran a long way...On a couple of holes it was hard to work out where the next hole was but this is the only minor area for improvement...At £22 for a round it is fairly prices and the views over Oxford are simply stunning and with Geese and their offspring roaming the course nature is all around you...

Amazing views, tremendous VfM
This is one of my favourite courses in this area. I have played it several times. There is a decent mix of holes, most perfectly ok but with three showstoppers. The course is perched on a hill overlooking Oxford so the views are spectacular. This is especially apparent on the ninth and 18th, both of which are long downhillers heading towards the view. They both invite a big drive off the tee, and then both end in dramatic and well guarded green complexes near the club house. The other standout hole is the third - this one is truly world class and I can't work out why it is not more famous. A fabulous view of Oxford from the tee and a massive, wide-open downhill fairway which invites a big drive. But the fairway also has a devilish sideslope. And when you get to your ball you realise that the hole then heads back uphill. So you're likely to be hitting off a downhillsidehill lie to a very well guarded green above you. It's an amazing hole. The rest of the course is perfectly fine - nothing quite so memorable but nothing wrong with it either. And the green fee is a steal - sometimes less than £20 in midweek.

Great for wildlife and views
Just completed early morning round with loads of wildlife to view: pheasant, deer, rabbits, a cute family of young Canada geese and even a cuckoo. The golf wasn't bad either! The course is in pretty good shape; greens and fairways are pretty good; the rough can get a bit rampant at this time of year so it's best avoided if you can. Bunkers remain the major item of work-in-progress. The greenkeepers do a great job pitched against the local wildlife who seem to want only to dig up the greens, and the climate. It's a friendly club and well worth a visit. The views over Oxford and the surrounding countryside are stunning.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 95 Handicap: 22.5)

Really Improved Course
I was impressed by the quality of the fairways and greens. Having visited several years back the improvement is clear. The views are consistently excellent and the course layout interesting and a good challenge. There was a friendly welcome in the charming old clubhouse and, while I did not stop for food or drink this time, I certainly will on the next visit as it all looked very tempting. Will be back soon!

A great find.
Visited Hinksey today for the first time. What a great course, a real gem. Great mixture of long & wide, short & narrow, holes, interesting doglegs and undulating terrain. Quite a long walk all in all, but the higher holes are rewarded with stunning views over Oxford. It was bright and fairly sunny today, with a fair breeze. I imagine it will feel very exposed in the colder, winter months. Thoroughly enjoyed it, challenging golf, with the holes well guarded by bunkers and trees, and quite tricky (though very well-maintained) greens. One thing of note today was that a heck of a lot of bunkers are marked "Ground Under Repair", and a drop zone marked - Not sure if this is a long term problem, but some bunkers looked a bit like demolition sites. Overall, highly recommended, will definitely return.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 104 Handicap: 23.8)
