30 Amazing Golf Courses You Can Play For £30

Much has been said and written about green fee inflation in recent years, which is especially true for many of the most celebrated and best known courses, meaning that you could believe that it's increasingly hard to find a bargain these days.
However, there are some venues that offer tremendous value for money, if you know where to look.
Introducing you to a wonderful collection of such places, we have picked out a group of 30 layouts in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland that are Highly Recommended on Golfshake, have a rating greater than four stars, and crucially that (at the time of writing) offer tee times online for no more than £30.
You may have to book in advance, favour weekdays or off-peak times to get your hands on some of these deals, but the majority of the locations we have featured below are fully accessible, affordable, and deliver a rewarding experience for all golfers.

Review Comment: "Unrecognisable! Trees removed, bramble and bushes cleared. What a joy. Also very flat and accessible to those of an unsteady demeanour. Okay, a par 3 course, but to call it a pitch and putt is a bit disingenuous to those of us high handicappers and learners. The fairways are narrow so a straight shot to hit the green is needed. Greens are good (played very slow today), lovely little course.Then there’s the Cafe/Bar/Clubhouse! Wow. Quality food and drink."

A great 9-hole course with good tee boxes, lush fairways and fabulous greens. A very quaint clubhouse with extremely friendly and accommodating staff. With its undulating terrain and exposed areas, it even plays like a links course in places, adding a unique twist to your round. There's a great mix of holes, from short, tricky par threes to longer, more demanding par fours, ensuring a varied challenge. It’s definitely a course where you need to plot your way around rather than just grip it and rip it. The friendly staff add to the welcoming atmosphere, making it a course worth visiting again."

Review Comment: "Amazing! This is an incredible course for £20. It is right by the sea. The first three holes are the best. The first starts from a slight rise next to the dimunitive clubhouse, before the second takes you down to the shoreline. Then the third hole is where you tee off along side the beach. The remaining holes are not so scenic, but still nice. It is in good condtion, with practice facilities of a putting green and a hitting net. I played in August and went back a month later."

Greens and tee boxes were very good considering the dry spell we’ve had. Fairways were very dry but again as expected. Will 100% come back later this year."

Review Comment: "Always nice to play here in the Lickey Hills. Great surroundings and a balanced course of challenging, interesting and pleasant holes. Played this time in the spring when the mud had dried up. Balls were rolling well. It can be a bit rough and ready around the edges, but remember it's a municipal in effect. Good value prices, certainly for seniors anyway. Nice cafe there too with good grub, tea, etc."

Review Comment: "Absolutely brilliant, not the longest course but every hole had its own different challenge, be it a dogleg left or right, water, undulating fairway, two tiered green, or narrow gaps between trees to tee off through. Greens and fairways in superb order. I am 68, playing off 20 and I found this course a real challenge, you definitely have to think your way around it."
