Well, the Golfshake Community is always a reliable resource to consult, and we asked them to name the best golf venue that they stayed at in 2022 or 2023.
Over 700 responses were submitted, with the range of destinations covering the UK & Ireland and throughout Continental Europe.
Bringing together five-star luxury resorts alongside those lesser-known places that offer tremendous value for money, each of the locations that we have shared below received a minimum of four unique votes from our survey, meaning that these are the venues that come recommended to you by other golfers.

The Kernow is a testing course but playable with concentration, while the Nicklaus is a beast of a course with no let up all the way round, but such a stunning looking course. I can not fault the resort overall, great food, friendly staff, good facilities."
Ashbury Golf Hotel

Review Comment: "The Ashbury Golf Resort is well worth a visit. It has four very different courses and a par 3 course. The accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable although the bed was a bit narrow for the bigger golfer. The food is very good and the staff are friendly."
Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa

Review Comment: "Stunning parkland course. Lovely course, front nine is more playable than the back, which has a few very long holes, which can be a bit of a slog! Overall though, very enjoyable and challenging."

Dundonald Links

Review Comment: "From walking into reception to leaving the clubhouse after a great round and excellent meal, the guys at Dundonald Links didn’t put a foot wrong. Very friendly welcome in the pro shop and starter. The course was in excellent condition, the layout is great and was a good test - playable but testing - a really enjoyable day and top quality at a fair price. Will be visiting again."
Forest Pines Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort
Location: Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, England

Review Comment: "I love this course, the beauty of it on a sunny day, with the flowers around the putting green and the fountains. It's a proper course, proper trees, proper hazards, proper bunkers and a proper layout. Hard to choose my favourite two nines, but Forest then Pines probably just wins it. Today the course was in superb condition with nicely cut fairways and tee boxes."
Old Thorns Hotel
Location: Liphook, Hampshire, England

Review Comment: "Despite recent awful weather, the course was in fantastic condition. Very little standing water. Greens are running true and can only get better. A course where several holes will leave you going 'wow' at the view. A few steep hills but worth it!"

Wychwood Park Hotel & Golf Club

Review Comment: "Stayed with three mates for a two-night, three-round golf break and we were very impressed with all aspects of Wychwood Park. The course is fairly open, but doglegs, numerous bunkers, plenty of water and changes in height make it a stern challenge. Off the tee it's fairly forgiving and on most holes you'd have to hit a pretty bad one to be in real trouble - as we proved on several occasions! The greens were running fast with some very tricky borrows to negotiate."

Review Comment: "Have wanted to play La Manga for years and it didn't let me down. I played the North, with the South and West to be played in the future. The views of the mountains were great and the course condition was fantastic. Challenging course for sure, tree-lined and water on holes in tricky places."
