What the club says: South Course (La Manga Golf Club)
Originally designed by Robert Putman and modified by Arnold Palmer, the South Course has undergone a complete refurbishment over the last couple of years. The main changes include more water hazards, tree plantation and green alterations and has seen it become much more of a challenge to the discerning golfer. The course is located in the centre of the valley and features wide palm-fringed fairways, a number of strategically positioned bunkers and plenty of cunning water hazards. The front nine is probably the tougher, with two par 3s measuring over 215 yards and some daunting par 4s, many of which demand accurate driving between lakes and bunkers.

18 holes. Par 73. 6998 yards. Parkland.

North Course (La Manga Golf Club)
The North Course is slightly shorter than the South but has tighter fairways and larger greens. This undulating course is positioned between palm trees, lakes and barrancas (natural gullies) with precision rather than length required to score well. Built to USGA specification, the amount of movement in the greens adds to the challenge, especially the short par 3 2nd, which has three different tiers.

18 holes. Par 71. 6289 yards. Parkland.

West Course (La Manga Golf Club)
Set amongst La Manga's pine woodland, the West Course offers a great alternative to the other, more classical championship courses. This undulating layout can be very deceiving, with the frequent changes in elevation making club selection the crucial factor to scoring well. The front nine is very tight and demands accurate driving if you are to stay clear of the barrancas. The back nine is much more open but still manages to offer a decent challenge. Set up amongst the hills, the West Course is a favourite with guests because of the wonderful views and the challenge offered by the course.

18 holes. Par 73. 6527 yards. Parkland.

Great for a tour!

We played all three courses at La Manga over the course of 3 days. All three of the courses are quite different in terms of layout and all very enjoyable. The South Course greens were in a bit of a sorry state, they had recently been treated and hollowtined, which we were told about prior to the round and given the opportunity to play one of the other courses instead. The North Course greens were much better, although there are still some patches of disease however these didn't detract from the enjoyment one bit. The West Course however is a masterpiece of complexity and a course you MUST plot your way around. Hard but highly rewarding, the West Course will not disapoint.

La Manga - Class

Have wanted to play La Manga for years and it didn't let me down. I played the North, with the South and West to be played in the future. The views of the mountains were great and the course condition was fantastic. Challenging course for sure, tree-lined and water on holes in tricky places.

One of three lovely courses on this resort, this one was probably my favourite as I found it more challenging.

A nice round of golf, but it would have been better if the very slow 4 ball in front would have let our 2 ball through

Great courses and facilities

West course - Short and very tricky. You have to think your way around. Tip - Get a course planner. Located away from North and South and fewer facilities
South Course - long and interesting with great views. Fantastic condition
North Course - similar to South but some greens in poor condition (possibly diseased)
Great facilities at North and South

West Course

Course was in good condition in early October, with firm but receptive greens. Found this to be very narrow and testing of tee shots and approach shots. Course management is crucial as there is only opportunity to hit driver on one or two holes for an average length hitter. Greens were small and well protected by trees, hazards and bunkers. Most definitely the hardest of the La Manga courses and particularly hard for low handicappers as there is no leeway for error.\\Having said this, it was a good challenge and would definitely like to play again.
