Very tough course which was also not in great condition. very poor compared to the other courses on the complex.

La Manga North
Played the North course last week. Great layout and fairways in top condition. However, greens were not in great condition and no one seems to repair pitch marks! Also, 5 and a half hours for a round. Every hole we had to wait for the group in front to tee off. It was not their fault, everyone had the same issue. My feeling was it was overbooked and overplayed. For the money they charge they need to look at the speed of play or how many people they let onto the course. Shame because this was a venue I always wanted to play but I won't rush back.Reviewer Rating

A very tired looking resort. Everywhere is in need of a lick of paint and the courses with the exception of the tighter and more difficult west course are well past their best and living on past glories

greens were patchy to look at although they played very well, no one repairs pitch marks in La manga, course advised us against playing west course as greens had just had work done. ended up paying 26 euro for individuasl buggies which was extortionate but on the other hand its beats sticking to the paths all the time on normal buggies. some great looking holes on here though and it plays longer than it looks. i never drove well so never in a position to make pars and birdies but you need to be agressive with your wedge approaches and chipping if you want to score well

South and North courses were in quite good condition apart from too many pitch marks which sort of spoilt it for me. Having been at La Manga before 6 years ago, this course wasn't in the same great state as then. The fairways and tees need a bit of work to get them back to being the best. I still think it's worth a visit but it's not a top tier course

Big open layout but lots of longish carries from tee box, so not good for high handicappers. Bit samey in places but in good condition

the three courses were excellent challenges the weather and conditions of the greens little bumpy the biggest thing for me and my companions was the lack of buggies there just was not enough of them the staff were helpful but could not do nothing about the lack of buggies. If u are thinking of going book u r buggies well in advance u need them for these courses

Played in Pro Am so off white tees which made it long in the strong breeze especially for me on 14 h/c. But I've always loved the South Course and despite it being overplayed and mainly tight lies on the fairway its still a delight.

The course considering the heat the keepers have to contend with was amazing. Very picturesque on most holes and the view from the 18th tee is breathtaking.
I was a little unimpressed by the service. For a '5*' resort they have a long way to go in my opinion. For example no stiff shafts available, unhelpful staff and no enthusiasm.
We had a complimentary round however for a over €150 round course I'd expect a lot more.

Greens had just been laid so were difficult to judge for speed the rest of the course was ok but directons for next hole could have been better. Buggies not allowed on fairways you had to stick to brick path would have been better with a pull along trolley.

Unfortunately they had just put down winter dressing when I played the North Course, so it's difficult to comment on greens. It was a wonderful challenging course, with long Par 5's and pretty scenery.
I also played the West course along the mountain side. It a short course but I really enjoyed it. some very challenging holes and good quality greens.

Great for a tour!
We played all three courses at La Manga over the course of 3 days. All three of the courses are quite different in terms of layout and all very enjoyable. The South Course greens were in a bit of a sorry state, they had recently been treated and hollowtined, which we were told about prior to the round and given the opportunity to play one of the other courses instead. The North Course greens were much better, although there are still some patches of disease however these didn't detract from the enjoyment one bit. The West Course however is a masterpiece of complexity and a course you MUST plot your way around. Hard but highly rewarding, the West Course will not disapoint.Reviewer Rating

South Course
Played in October. Weather was a warm 25 degrees and course was relatively busy. Found the ‘championship’ course to be fair. Testing ball striking mostly but with good opportunities for birdies. Rewards accurate driving and does offer the ability to take more risky lines in return for greater chances at birdie.Reviewer Rating

Nice technical course
Quite warm when walking round. Make sure you have plenty of drinks with you. Busy even at this time of year. Greens like a proverbial billiard table - too firmly hit and it went miles, too softly hit and the grain of the grass takes it off-line very easily.
