Fantastic break!! The whole formby hall experience was outstanding. Great staff, good food and hotel rooms were superb. The golf course was in good condition and is a great test for all abilities. It handles a lot of traffic daily so hats off to the green keepers. Lots of concentration required as you plot your way around here with water hazards all over the place. The greens were exceptionally slick during our first round combined with very tricky pin positions. Some of the greens obviously are under constant watch due to moss but you can see they do their utmost to keep it under control. Many approach shots require a links style mindset because it can roll and roll on here so watch out. Our second round played in wetter conditions so a little more forgiving at times but it drains well. A great test, very pleasing on the eye. Damn good!!! - Sep 22 2015

Played after 4 weeks of hot weather in june/july. Considering how scorched some of the other courses are in the area, formby hall is in pretty good condition

great course, tee boxes were in awful condition, as were the 'fairways' id put that down to the current weather however and intend to revisit when they have got on top of it!
the greens were in great condition considering!

Would love to come back in the summer with better weather.
(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 87 Handicap: 11.4)
Fantastic course, greens in great shape considering all the rain, & fairways slowly recovering, great pro-shop, well stocked, plus driving range...can really recommend, my only minor complaint...the course is a bit...flat!

(Round played: Mar 2018 - Score: 89 Handicap: 6.3)
Considering the weather that we have had over the last 2-3 weeks i thought the course was in very respectable condition. Well done FH!

All greens on, after the rain we've had I was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely return, and
hopefully when the weather has picked up, to see this great course at its best.
(Round played: Dec 2017 - Score: 91 Handicap: 16.7)
Unlike a lot of par 3's (which are you standard up and down flat holes with the odd bunker) Formby Hall par 3 encompasses nearly everything you might find on a full 18 holes course; insland greens, approach shots over water, bunker guarded greens, elevated tees and greens, narrow greens etc. Played on 26/11/17 and considering the weather in November has been dire, the course is in exceptionally good condition. I doubt you will find a par 3 course in such good condition anywhere around the north west for this time of year
