What the club says: Formerly known as Southern Gailes, this superb new course sits in prime links land adjacent to Western Gailes with Glasgow Gailes to the north and Kilmarnock Brassie to the south. It has been hailed as an equal to Kingsbarns and unsurprisingly, was designed by Kyle Phillips. A classic links, it has been recognised as one of the best new courses in the world (Robb Report 2004). Phillips' aim was to create a championship course that played and felt like an old rediscovered course and most observers believe he's accomplished this.

Irons from tees can be the best option as to score round here you need to avoid the bunkers from tee to green.
Course in superb condition.

True Scottish Golf
The course has all the features you would expect on a true Scottish links course (gorse, pot bunkers, hidden ditches and stunning views). We had true Scottish weather thrown in (45 mph winds, hail and sunshine) yet the course was so good this just added to the experience. ?55 for a visitor on a Sunday was good value & the hospitality & food were very good.

Fantastic Golf Layout
It?s a must visit , great layout and condition.

Fabulous Course
When you arrive the clubhouse is less than inspiring from the outside as it resembles a very large mobile home. Inside the facilities are very good. Food was excellent. Pro and reception staff super friendly and helpful. Moving to the practice ground you see the benefits of being chosen to host The Scottish Open as the practice range, short game practice area and putting practice area were added then and are superb. Then you play the course and the treat that you have ahead will truly make your day. Superbly maintained every hole is a joy to play. A note of caution from the starter was "Avoid the bunkers at all costs and if you do happen in one chose your route out carefully as forward is not always the best way." I concur! Possibly my favourite course of those that I have played, certainly up there. Highly recommended.

first class
great course always in top condition staff great 1st class - even when raining course is worth a visit be careful though greens are unbelievable best ive ever played(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 110 Handicap: 18.8)

Fantastic links
This course is a fantastic test and is in fantastic condition.Check it out online before you play and take advantage of the hole by hole guide.
It will pay off. Its a must do on this championship course.

Great links course
The course is varied and challenging. It has views over the Firth of Clyde; follows the Ayr-Glasgow railway at some points, and has small ditches, large bunkers and steep mounding to keep life interesting. The fairways are firm and the greens are fast. You have to hit approaches to the right parts of the greens as there are many elevation changes. There are white, blue and black tees offering different distance challenges for every level of player. The staff are friendly and helpful, and a half-way service is available.

Fabulous Course
A must play , great layout .

A must for all golfers

Dreich
Plays like an old links course. We had gales and rain when we played. Clubhouse is very basic but has reasonable facilities. Loved playing this as it had recently hosted the Scottish Open...(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 103 Handicap: 21.9)
