First 9 holes are very good and fair, the back nine is more like a mining bing with bunkers that are impossible to get out of. The cost of hiring a buggy is exorbitant £30 for just one round--- Dick Turpin wore guns when he robbed people.

Staff were Great. Course a bit wet in places. A lot of divots going unrepaired and pitch marks on greens making them bumpy. Still a bit early in season. would like to see it in the summer season. Great venue

True Scottish Golf

The course has all the features you would expect on a true Scottish links course (gorse, pot bunkers, hidden ditches and stunning views). We had true Scottish weather thrown in (45 mph winds, hail and sunshine) yet the course was so good this just added to the experience. ?55 for a visitor on a Sunday was good value & the hospitality & food were very good.

Great links course

The course is varied and challenging. It has views over the Firth of Clyde; follows the Ayr-Glasgow railway at some points, and has small ditches, large bunkers and steep mounding to keep life interesting. The fairways are firm and the greens are fast. You have to hit approaches to the right parts of the greens as there are many elevation changes. There are white, blue and black tees offering different distance challenges for every level of player. The staff are friendly and helpful, and a half-way service is available.

Plays like an old links course. We had gales and rain when we played. Clubhouse is very basic but has reasonable facilities. Loved playing this as it had recently hosted the Scottish Open...

I thought the course was great and played well, it was in great condition for the time of year and recent rain fall, I really did not see to many spots with standing water. That being said I was playing on a weekday at 10am and on the back nine I had the grounds-keeping crew follow me during every hole, they were in the middle of every fairway when I got to the tee, and on every green when I arrived, this became quite annoying after the first few holes.

This club has a basic initial layout to the car park and club house. On entering the club itself we were greeted by very friendly staff, all full of knowledge on the brief history of the course / owners. The starter took us to the 1st tee and we were offered the choice of tee to use for the day. The fairways are well manicured with perfectly sighted bunkers to pick off anything off centre. they were also extremely difficult to get out of. The starters two tips to us.....chip out sideways when in the bunkers and beware of the greens. Greens were immaculate, very true and designed to a very high standard. I can possibly see slight drainage problems in the next few years as some of the fairways held water in medium sized puddles. The rough is damaging to your game on this course but easy enough to spot your wayward balls. There are some good dog leg holes with excellent placed burns to catch you out. Beware the 1st green, awesome slopes. The 3rd is a tough par 5 where you will have to maximise your lay up skills. The signiture 11th hole is a real treat at just 120 yards but miss the green and your looking at a bogey at best. 12/13/14 are fairly straight forward then another par 3 gem at 15. Playing anything from the 165 yards mark, this hole has an awesome bunker structure at the front. Hit them at your peril. If you do manage a par on 15, run to the next as fast as your legs will carry you then face the toughst hole on the course, running alongside the train track and measuring some 430 plus. A perfect bunker layout again hinders your drive. Dundonald Is a course that needs skill and some intelligent plotting around. Overall, a very enjoyable round for the £40 we paid. Handicap 18 Score on the day in wind and rain 93.
