What the club says: Forest Pines (Forest Pines)
The stunning championship layout at Forest Pines was opened in 1996 and has rapidly become one of the must play courses in the UK. The fairways twist and turn their way through majestic pines and then into open heathland and despite its tender years, Forest Pines is reminiscent of a more established championship course. Split into three 9 hole loops, the Pines, the Beeches and the Forest, it plays at 6,882 yards in its longest combination. Designed by John Morgan and constructed to exceptionally high standards, it was voted the best new course in England by Golf World magazine and Today's Golfer named rewarded the resort with the title of 'Best Golf Course in the East of England in 2018'

Lovely set up

Great facilities but very slow play pace due to the amount of people they squeeze in. Makes play uncomfortable as you can have 3 sets of players queueing. Courses in good condition and apart from slow play it was value for money - just be prepared to take 5 hours to get around.

Just Fantastic

Stayed and played at Forest Pines in July. All 3 courses were in fantastic condition, a really good test. Hotel and food excellent. Well worth the 2 and half hour journey.
Back there in a couple of weeks.

Home course

Always in great condition and has the feel of a special course. Greens quite quick especially if you leave yourself a downhiller.

Lovely Condition

Beautiful course in lovely condition. Not easy , you have to be straight and some of the greens are very small and very heavily bunkered making accurate approach shots a must.

Fabulous course can;t wait to return

Someone said this is the Woburn of the North - very very true
The golf course is basically right around the back of the hotel. It was a bit confusing what needed to be done about parking a car, but they have a tablet to register your vehicle when you enter the building.
The pro shop and 19th bar are basically at the rear and within the hotel complex. The upstairs bar has impressive views. You look down the 1st hole of the Pines course and the 9th green of the Forest -both lined by beautiful straight lines of pine and beech trees – impressive. Leaves you with one thought “We definitely need to be straight today!”
The course charges £60 at the weekend but there are Teeofftimes offers and you can get a round from as little as £20.
It is 3 loops of nine. Only the Forest (par 36 - 3093 yards of yellows) and Pines (par 37 – 3272 yards) were open. The Beeches will open later in the Spring. So, a total par of 73 (SSS 72) measuring 6365 yards is not that long when you consider that extra par. It doesn’t need to be long, as the tree-lined course makes it a tough enough test. Considering there were five par 5’s averaging 465 yards (the longest being 487 yards). And, only one par 4 over 400 yards (ninth on the Pines – my last hole measuring 430). It is not a long bombers’ course. It is a strategic players course!
Overall the course was one of the best I have played. Built on sand it is well drained. Parts of the heathland Forest course reminded me of North Hants, and some of the pine tree lined holes are like Bearwood lakes - both exceptional courses.
Overall the experience was fantastic. The fact it poured down for the first half hour and some greens had standing water temporarily, and virtually all greens had had some hollowtined work done to them in the last few weeks did not deter me at all. I just can’t wait to return in the summer.

Fantastic as always !

Always a great venue for our golf society away weekend and the variation in the three nine holers makes for great competition. Food and drinks always lovely and the professionalism and friendliness of the staff is very welcoming. Greens were immaculate and for me the Beeches course is my favourite for a number of reasons including lovely tree lined greens and undulating fairways, plus a couple of decent par 3's. We will certainly be back !

Day 2 of golf break

Lots of trees, sign posted well as all 3 nine hole courses intermingled, some of the fairways were not at there best, but with the summer we have had, but the greens were well maintained if a bit 2 paced.

As ever a great day here.

Most people will know of Forest Pines - it's one of Golfbreaks.com biggest sellers in England. The day was a complimentary thank you and celebration for those people around Lincolnshire and Yorkshire who use Golfbreaks.com hosted by the company.

For those who haven't played it - FP is a tricky track that can yield good scores if the ball is kept on the fairway from tee to green. There are many intimidating tee shots here and accuracy from the tee is key.

The whole course screams quality as does the venue itself and great value deals can be found there. It's excellent throughout. Tee boxes manicured perfectly, fairways keep the ball safe, off of the fairway and there's trouble, but generally (unless you are very wayward or your ball takes up swimming lessons) where the wayward shot lands is the punishment, there's no hidden dangers (like knee-high rough under trees) so it is also a fair course. The greens were immaculate, fast and very true, bunkers were well maintained and playable from, it's also a pretty course at this time of year so those who aren't playing well can enjoy the scenery. I've never played really well here but I've never hit a complete disaster either but finding that extra gear to pull out the really good scores tends to be beyond me at this course. There were 60 players invited by Golfbreaks.com for the day the winning points score was 36 for the gents and 28 for the ladies, and the team comp (best 2 stb scores on each whole from the fourball) was only won with 86 - so it played tough but fair once again.

If you haven't played here it's a must visit course that is better priced than a lot of it's contemporaries. Well worth a day!
