Can You Identify These Mystery Golf Courses

By: | Fri 25 Aug 2023

Each golf course that you play is distinctive and unique to the landscape on which it has been laid out. The best holes are designed to blend seamlessly into the topography of the terrain, with the overall routing following a path that takes full advantage of the available acreage.

Although there are clear similarities between many venues, for those with intimate knowledge of a course, the flow of its layout effectively serves as a fingerprint that can make it easily identifiable.

Helping visitors to gain an understanding of the course they are experiencing, many clubs place a map of the layout on scorecards to assist with directions but to also provide a flavour of what you can expect from later holes.

Naturally, the best ideas in life are usually someone else's to begin with, as we have to credit a dear friend of Golfshake (@FuzzyGolf on Twitter) who suggested that we explore this idea further and present a challenge to our readers.

Below, you will find ten course layout maps (with a clue) that we're testing you to identify. Now, we certainly don't expect anyone to get a perfect score, but hopefully it's a fun exercise that potentially introduces you to new courses.
