What the club says: Skipton Golf Club is set amidst the Yorkshire Dales between Airedale and Wharfedale. Playing the course, you are treated to magnificent views of Sharphaw, Crookrise and Embsay Crag. Eller Beck, a superb feature of the course descends from the surrounding fells and meanders through the back nine holes, providing an interesting water hazard.

Good course but not at it's best
Having played Skipton a few times before was disappointed this time around, Course was a bit messy in places especially the greens which were showing signs of season wear. Still the course provides an interesting challenge with some proper card wrecking holes, fairly hilly my trolley battery was giving up the ghost by the end of the round. Hopefully they will get the greens back making this a great course to play. Clubhouse friendly with great food served.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 80 Handicap: 6.4)

What a great course
Weather turned out good for this one. What a fantastic golf club! Layout really challenging but fair and lovely to the eye. The scenery around the course was breath-taking. The course certainly gives you chances as well as challenges. Most of us struggled at some point of the round but the feedback was we all loved the course and will certainly return. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were also first class. The beer, soup and sandwiches also hit the mark. Thoroughly recommend!(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 93 Handicap: 15.5)

Nice course, worth playing
First time playing Skipton since they re-designed the course. Still an interesting course to play, lots of tricky holes to negotiate especially holes 13-16, real card wreckers. Course in reasonable conditions, greens a little disappointing as usually very good this time a little inconsistent. Clubhouse and pro shop friendly.Reviewer Rating

Stunning views and a Hilly course to protect itself
Very different from yesterday. Greens faster and truer but shorter course but a lot of different and updulating hills. Work on 4 holes means didn't see full glory but 16th par 3 is spectacular. 187 yrd with 180 carry over river downhill but blind to river. 5H for me but caught far bank before dropping in.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 16.2)

Bring a powered trolley
Lovely setting and views despite one or two holes being close to a main road. It is hilly and physically demanding so an electric trolley is advisable. The course is undergoing a lot of work to mitigate flood dangers from the beck that runs through the course so when we played it there was a temporary hole and a fair amount of work going on. Added to this the greens had been spiked, sanded and Graden machined which was a shame. It's an interesting and challenging course which I would like to replay in a year or two when the work and redesign has settled in.Reviewer Rating

Excellent course in top top condition even though much flood prevention work is being done it didn't detract from a lovely difficult course. Most enjoyable, on a decent day. Pity about my game!

The course was in excellent condition throughout with very generous fairways for the straight hits. Unfortunately there was some united utilities work going on at the back of the course which ruined the scenery a little but otherwise as picturesque as you would expect from the area
