course was so busy front nine took over 2 1/2 hours. started back nine but every tee box had a queue as far as the eye could see, some very slow play with no effort to hurry people up, management was very poor. Course was shabby quality, fairways very hard, greens were poor quality, doesn't live up to its "championship" tag.

What an absolute disgrace this course was! We booked online for their £15 offer and lets just say they have obviously reduced the price but service has gone out the window. As we obtained our cards from the pro shop we were warned it was "slow out there". 2 1/2 hours later we had managed to make it to 7th hole! The course was cramed with people on business courses, hacking their way around and there was not a marshall to be seen. Even two members we spoke to said it as always like this! The course is ok apart from the green, but it is run very poorly.
Take my advice there are so many better courses in this area, save your money and play elsewhere.

One of the worst courses I have ever played. It\'s almost as if nobody takes care of the greens. Scabby, patchy in August?? This is just not acceptable. The staff can tell you they were treating the greens, but it\'s not that - they are just very badly kept.\\Aside from the woeful condition, it\'s a proper learner\'s course. 5 hour round, practically everyone slapping the ball about. Not much adherence to dress codes.\\It\'s no wonder they have to Groupon the green fees all the time. Even then it\'s not worth the money.

The course was in very poor condition.
Greens very poor condition,
Tee's badly maintained.
Front 9 fairways look liked they had not been cut for a week.
Bunkers looked like they had never been raked.
Yellow tees well forward, some on the red's ??

Played a twilight round last week, £25. Pro failed to mention that 12 of the greens had been hollow tined and 2 temporaries. Pro shop had closed by the time we had finished. Tee boxes very scruffy too.
I used to play this course regularly 3 or so years ago when they accepted Open Fairways, it's really gone downhill since then. Found myself in 7 or 8 bunkers all of which had footprints and needed raking.
Will not be returning, much better courses in the area, Caversham, Sherfield etc. which provide better conditions and value for money.

The greens were being treated and had all sand and pitch fork holes all over. There was a temporary green on the 4th that was just a hole in the fairway not even mowed to like like a temp green. For mid august the course was in a bad state. Since a few years ago this is much easier as all the long grass and rough has been taken back, and now less enjoyable.

Played in a 2 day Society event. Disappointingly, there was no food available to purchase when we arrived mid-morning. On Day 1 the course was open, but was so wet and muddy it should have been closed. We were given no prior warning about the conditions.
The evening meal turned out to be a 3 course buffet which provided limited choice and was not to the standard one would expect from a golf hotel complex. We were a group of 15 and given only 2 tables of 7. The bedroom was good. Overnight the course had dried out a little, but was still muddy. Overall very disappointing.

Needs some tlc
I have been looking forward to playing this course as have wanted to play it for years. I have to say I and my group have left very disappointed. Tee boxes were a mess on almost every hole, greens were ok and better than some courses I have played. Fairways almost non existent. Course looks like they have given up with it. Played there October 28 course quite muddy in good condition for the time of the year nice comfortable round not many people about on the down side no chance of ever going back again left golf clubs in my vehicle overnight due to not wanting to drag wet muddy clubs up to my room only to come down next morning to find security locks broken and all clubs stolen hotel needs to step up security if they want to compete with othersReviewer Rating
