What the club says: Calcot Park is an undulating, traditional, parkland course and is recognised as one of the best in the area. It was designed by Harry Colt in 1930 who also built, amongst others, Beaconsfield, Denham, Stoke Park, Sunningdale Old, Swinley Forest along with the East and West courses at Wentworth Club in Surrey.
The 18-hole course, Par and SSS 70, is 6216 yards long off the White Tees and is acknowledged as a demanding, yet fair test of golf. There are two par five's, both reachable in two by strong hitters and four excellent par three's, including the 7th, our signature hole, played across a lake to an elevated green.
The 13th is played across a stream in a shallow valley to a contoured green. The course opens and closes with two, long par four's. There are three small practice areas, practice nets and two practice chipping and putting greens.
Calcot Park has an abundance of mature trees and shrubs and the areas surrounding the course are home to a variety of wildlife including badgers, foxes and deer.

Quality of Service
Our Golf Society visit (20 players) was very warmly welcomed by the Management & Catering Staff of Calcot Park. Everyone felt totally at home.Service was speedy, and attentive.
The weather was perfect, and the golf course was in excellent condition considering the dry conditions.
Greens were challenging, but our Society average score exceeded 30 points, which was above the normal.
One player commented that all holes were very different and interesting.

First class course!
A gorgeous course, which is quite forgiving, but the greens are like glass, and are certainly not forgiving!! One false move, and the ball will run off for days!(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 107 Handicap: )

nice course
Course was in parts tight with next tee box adjacent to the previous green and in striking distance, Course had suffered from the excessive recent rain and was boggy in parts. Shots carried no distance due to the ground being waterlogged which made the course seem much longer. Also as the course is hilly again no carry and in some cases plugging. pre golf we had a breakfast in the clubhouse which whilst modest was perfectly cooked. generally the course is very well kept and very tidy. Greens are true but very fast. Green Fees expensive at around £40+..(Round played: May 2021 - Score: 98 Handicap: 13.3)

Interesting course
Played for first time. Would normally be too pricey for us but had a 4 ball voucher which was great. Course in very good nick and greens fats but true. Some holes perhaps a bit similar and course not as varied as expected.(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 92 Handicap: 19.5)

Great course, fast greens
Great course, well maintained. The day was sunny and the course was dry, hence the greens were very fast and it took a long time to get used to them(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 115 Handicap: 27.1)

Great course in heart of Reading
Excellent track - fairly long with numerous 400+ par 4s off the yellows, you need to be hitting the big stick well! All the par 3s are interesting, beautiful holes.Greens were tinned recently so not a true reflection but still in excellent condition for November, and the same with the fairways considering the bit summer.
Pro shop is nice, lovely club house and all staff very welcoming. Will be returning as soon as I can, £100 for a winter 4 ball is an excellent bargain!

Good Course
Played here in a match so off the whites luckily it was bone dry because this is a long track. The greens and tee boxes well watered and in great condition, fairways are dry but who's aren't. Great hospitality. Some super holes play it if you get the chance.Reviewer Rating
