The course has suffered a lot from the recent weather conditions as well as a lot of heavy traffic and needs a bit more care and attention.
A lot of the pin were in areas of the greens that had a lot of wear and tear and possibly in one position for far too long.

Played Wokefield 2/3 August. Was`nt overly impressed by the conditions of the course. Fairways were hard and not much grass,( understood with not a lot of rain), but the greens were in a terrible condition on most of them. Surely they should be watering them and a lot had dry mud patches. My local course, Woodlands in Bristol, is by far in better condition, and for a fraction of the price. Accomodation cannot be faulted, and practice facilities were good. But overall, not in a hurry to go back unless it`s rainy. Ha ha.

Played golf at Wokefield Sat 2/8/25 and Sun 3/8/25. Although the accomadation, bar, restaurants and grounds of Wokefield were very nice and pristeen, I could not say the same thing about the golf course. I know there has`nt been an abundant of rain, but the course was like playing off concrete. Hardly any grass on the fairways, and the greens were a lot to be desired. ( Could do with some love and attention). My local course,( Woodlands in Bristol) is in a far better condition than Wokefield costing a fraction of the price to play.

Well worth a visiting three changing course

Good layout but dry conditions
This is a challenging course with a lot of well placed fairway bunkers to catch you out. The course was very dry with the greens and fairways in need of watering.Pretty slow too. We played 2 rounds which both took 5 hours.

LONG course, can be very busy and slow

Wasn’t expecting perfect conditions in November but course was in poor condition. Very muddy fairways, bunkers full of water, tee boxes hadn’t been moved in a while. The greens were awful, patches with no grass and the ball jumping in the air because they were so uneven.
The course could be very good but needs a lot of money spending on it.
Very nice hotel, evening meal good. Breakfast was cold on both days

Nice course, tough for high handicapers
Well maintained , good facilities, long & not best sign posted walk from 9th to 10th. big wide fairways, rough very long - instant lost ball. Enjoyed the round Good practise areas including bunker and chipping area.Reviewer Rating

Needs investment
Played there last week, unbelievably slow round, 6 hours 20 mins!!! Fairways not too bad, 1st cut and beyond was terrible, scruffy and untidy including the Tee boxes. Greens poor and very mossy, it’s clear not much has been invested over the past few years on the course. It appears that one of the small lakes has possibly had something toxic enter the water as there were about 8 huge carp floating in the water and a few (somehow) rotting on the grass at the waters edge.. they were there both days and deteriorating fast.- why would they be left there?It’s the little things round the course….all the ball cleaners on the tees were empty, many of the bins on the tees over flowing and rubbish in the floor all
around them.
There were hundreds of players playing over the two days we were there yet the half way hut had no food - ‘sorry we sold out yesterday’ - they know the numbers that they have booked and are a massive facility ….. why not stock up with a few sausage rolls, pies crisps or even drinks…. Very poor for a big name brand like DeVere.
The course design and layout is really good, such a shame it appears that they are just flogging it to death.

The course at the moment is in a very poor state all the bunkers are G.U.R the course is covered by grass cutting the second cut is still very longer than it should be all in all a very sad state

Course during the heavy rain
The course is great for challenging your game. It was well maintained but has suffered during the monthsOf heavy rain fall. I play here most of the time and will continue too.

Great venue for a society break with family and friends. Hotel facilities were perfect for us , golf course challenging and fantastic for all ability of golfers. Will definitely return and recommend.

Played in a 2 day Society event. Disappointingly, there was no food available to purchase when we arrived mid-morning. On Day 1 the course was open, but was so wet and muddy it should have been closed. We were given no prior warning about the conditions.
The evening meal turned out to be a 3 course buffet which provided limited choice and was not to the standard one would expect from a golf hotel complex. We were a group of 15 and given only 2 tables of 7. The bedroom was good. Overnight the course had dried out a little, but was still muddy. Overall very disappointing.

The course is in desperate need of attention the grass on the fairways has not been cut so there is no definition between fairways and second cut the second cut also need cutting it's easy too loose balls on the fairways and very easy everywhere else. All in all very disappointing
