Highly Recommended 2018
What the club says: Waterloo Course - This picturesque and mature course takes you through woodland and parkland and features several trademark holes. A birdie opportunity awaits you on the very first hole of the Waterloo course, a lengthy par five which requires an accurate tee shot as a dry ditch traverses the fairway. Water is a challenge on the course too, especially at the par three 5th where a lake guards the tilted green. The front 9 is deemed to be the easier of the two. Try to make your score and then hang on through the back 9 holes.
Wellington Course - The Wellington course is slightly longer than it's counterpart and consequently offers a different challenge. As the Waterloo, the Wellington course unravels it's way through ancient Hampshire woodland and landscaped parkland. Well tended fairways and manicured greens make both courses a fantastic golfing experience.

friendly course, very busy. The course itself meanders through the woods, but is quite open apart from one or two narrow fairways. quite short par 4's and a lack of par 5's mean it is not long nor does it play long.

Good conditionThe course has recovered very well after a poor start to the year. The greens are now excellent. Well worth a visit.
(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 81 Handicap: 16.7)
Watch out for the roughNice course with good greens, but keep out of the rough which is very penal and likely to lose your ball.

A long day!!!Played the ?longest day? golf challenge on the 21st of June - 4 rounds in a day. The club were great hosts and looked after us, even getting us earlier tee times as we were ahead of schedule. Very different courses but both a fair challenge & enjoyable, in good condition.
hole in ten golf societyOur society play our yearly double header here (36 holes in one day) and can honestly say you couldn't ask for more. Staff communication and package deals are the best value for money for miles would highly recommend to anyone we will be returning again very soon well done Sherfield 1st class course playing fantastic and the long rough only adds a great challenge to a golfer of any level.
Enjoyable round - despite my golfToughish course, unfortunately it had been set up for their club championships so rough was awful - not worth looking for your ball. If you did find it - pick it up.

Tough in the roughPlayed this course a few times now. It's shorter than the other 18 here but, in my opinion, a bit trickier. At this time of year it's even harder as the rough is really long and you can end up losing a lot of balls. It's more enjoyable at other times of the year when the rough is cut back. Still a good course though and greens were excellent.

Great CoursesPlayed The Waterloo last week and the presentation of the course and condition of the greens was superb so decided to come back this week for the Wellington - equally as good and commend the green keepers for their ability. We play at a number of Crown courses but these 2 are some of the best.
Waterloo Course quiet oasisSherfield Oaks has two 18 courses the Waterloo, which I played and the Wellington their flagship course. The Waterloo is a varied 5600 yard course in quiet Hampshire countryside with some challenging par 3s, tight par 4 10th and water hazards. True greens it is nice to be able to reach some greens in regulation being a retired golfer.
Hidden gemVery nice golf course and the staff is super and welcoming.

Greens unplayableDamage to greens makes them unplayable, work is being done to repair but this is taking a long time.
(Round played: Mar 2019 - Score: 93 Handicap: 13.7)
mixed conditionFairways generally ok though greens a little disappointing as they are still recovering from a winter disease. However still great fun overall and very good value Golf Day.
(Round played: Mar 2019 - Score: 89 Handicap: 20.4)
Terrible greensAll the greens on the Wellington were covered with patches of no grass filled in with sand.
