What the club says: Waterloo Course - This picturesque and mature course takes you through woodland and parkland and features several trademark holes. A birdie opportunity awaits you on the very first hole of the Waterloo course, a lengthy par five which requires an accurate tee shot as a dry ditch traverses the fairway. Water is a challenge on the course too, especially at the par three 5th where a lake guards the tilted green. The front 9 is deemed to be the easier of the two. Try to make your score and then hang on through the back 9 holes.

Wellington Course - The Wellington course is slightly longer than it's counterpart and consequently offers a different challenge. As the Waterloo, the Wellington course unravels it's way through ancient Hampshire woodland and landscaped parkland. Well tended fairways and manicured greens make both courses a fantastic golfing experience.

Wellington is quite a long course with some very deep rough at this time of year so distance and accuracy is required.

All bunkers are GUR pending remodelling. Greens were in good condition but slow.

Worth playing

Good range of holes with no easy ones but chances of pars on a few. Fairways and greens in good shape although slower than expected, perhaps due to the recent rain. Some confusion on colour of tees and little distinction between the white and golf markers. Also not clear of pin positions as all the flags seemed to be the same colour?
Great bar if a little expensive, packet of peanuts and packet of crisps £3.25!

In terms of the colours on the tee boxes, we recently moved to black, white & gold which is shown on the scorecards, the board will be replaced but awaiting delivery.

The flag colours are the same colour for each course, with the pin positions of A, B or C shown on the board outside the clubhouse & at the bottom of the scorecard for each day.

Excellent all round

A great location to play and at a club that welcomes all visitors, exactly how golf should be. Have played both courses now, and both are worth your time, will definitely be back.

Worth A Trip

Having played a couple of society days at this venue I have to say it's not bad, if sometimes a little busy! You always seem to go off late but it's got some nice holes on both courses. They are doing a lot on the hospitality front and working hard to keep people on site. Food is good and the prices are fair. A good society venue and will certainly play again.

Rough was insanely thick for a course of this standard (may have been timing with the weather but made it a challenge for anyone deviating from the fairway anywhere). Other than that was in good condition and suitable for the society we played in.

Thanks for your recent feedback on your visit to the club. You are correct that the warm weather mixed with the wet spring has made the long rough grow extremely thick. We have sprayed the rough with a fungicide which will thin out the rough as we move through the summer.

Waterloo course, good challenge!

Played the Waterloo course and it was overall in great condition, the greens, tee's and fairways were lovely to play from! Only real complaint is the bunkers which were in a poor condition, I believe work is being carried out on the Waterloo course bunkers later this year which will make the course fantastic but for now I recommend just taking free drops to the sides of them. Would definitely recommend the course though to all players, staff were very friendly and the extra facilities were great for warming up and practicing before the round.

Bit of a struggle!

Decided to play after heavy rain and glad we did although it was inevitably quite hard work! Wetter underfoot than expected and paths in particular very muddy but greens were very good.

Stay out of the rough as it can be long and punishing. Greens were in good condition but fairways were still dry and preferred lies in operation which was a good call by the club.

even in a very wet rainy day. the course was in great condition. A bit easier than usual as the rough had been cut down. Awesome round, great club.
