Have lived local I have played Windmill hill many times over the years, it has not changed much and is a good track to play every now and again, since its close and reopened by the council it has been saved, but it's still not that exciting to play.
Just one more the tee boxes are still not flat ground and makes driving off difficult.

Tight fairways and a challenging course off the tee. The course is ok condition and whilst id play it again i wouldnt go out of my way to.

A good course if only the owners would take more care in it . Miss the fairway by a few feet and your stuffed even if you do manage to find the ball. No flat teeing area which makes it hard to play a decent tee shot.

a very long course needs to be better cared for as there are a few areas that are not the best

A course that is unfortunately located in an uninspiring location. If you are hitting straight you will hit a good score otherwise you will find that the fairway lined trees become second home. You get a friendly welcome and they are accommadating to your needs but on a down side they do let some 'chavs' dressed in cut offs and vests use the course which is a bit distracting when listening to their colourful language

A much better course in the summer. There was standing water on several of the fairways and the ball would not run. Greens not bad considering. Club house only small and limited but has a small bar and the snacks are not at all bad. We have run into the same problem on the last two rounds. There is a resident crow which steals golf balls

Long narrow course. Good test of golf
Long tight tree line course. Test for golfers. Fairways and greens are improving. Tee areas are in a terrible state.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 90 Handicap: 12.4)

Good course
Very nice course....lots of woodland and trees....some very tough pin positions....but a really good value public pay and pay course....well worth a visit(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 111 Handicap: 21.6)

Good course, it seems that they have a new green keeper as the fairways are nicely shaped and cut and the greens are much better. Some tees need leveling out and more sand is required in the bunkers but overall its getting there slowly.

Bad greens
The greens in December 18 were in the best condition I've ever seen at Windmill, but they've dramatically gone downhill since then and are in a bad way right now. Windmill is always a challenge as it's such a long and straight course but you're not heavily punished for being offline. Just need to sort the greens out.Reviewer Rating
