Highly Recommended 2018
What the club says: Originally constructed in 1970, 6023 yards in length, Abbey Hill is a very pleasant parkland course, laid out in loops of eight and ten holes. Enhancements by Howard Swann were completed in 1996 which significantly improved the course by providing eleven new tees, six new greens and brought into play a number of water hazards. The terrain is undulating with mature trees and some spectacular backdrops. A particular feature is the Par 3 17th, which requires a carry over water.
Today Abbey Hill is a mature, challenging test of golf, which appeals to both the novice player and to the competitive low handicap player. The greens are fast and true whilst the fairways are lush and manicured. Abbey Hill’s Main Course has truly earned its reputation as being the best course in Milton Keynes.

Not too demanding. will suit all handicappers. Some interesting holes - risk and reward. Course in good condition.

Better than expected
First time I've played here for over 20years. Have to say what a great course now, very well layed out and greens were superb.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 83 Handicap: 14.1)

Regular Abbey Hill visit
With some courses in Milton Keynes unhappily disappearing, I've played Windmill Hill more often than usual this year. Considering it is part of the Burr Hill group, I would have liked to see a better pricing strategy especially during the week where there's really little cost difference during the day time hours, whereas others offer cheaper prices, going down in steps from midday.Overall the course is "OK" although I think some of the first cut rough is a little too long and many of the bunkers are still poorly filled with sand and drained.

Good course

Great local course MK
Great course, very well maintained fairways and greens - especially so give the number of players from MK and surrounds. Lovely scenery. Very friendly golf pros in shop and nice cafe area.(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 88 Handicap: 24.3)

Well worth a visit

Good - but the mats...
Great condition, especially after all the rain, but some of the tee mats need replacing as it was very difficult to get a tee to stand up on some of the mats.

Not bad for time of year
Course not too bad a condition for the time of year. Lots of areas roped off to save the ground and makes it a little further to walk to some tee boxes and greens. No buggies allowed nd only hedgehogs on trolleys. Putting green was closed (only open Friday to Sunday), which is a shame and, in my opinion totally unnecessary.Pace of play could be better especially when the seniors were out and playing quite slowly and not letting anyone through.
There are cheaper courses to play in Milton Keynes which are fair this time of year, namely Windmill Hill and Three Locks. Shame Wavendon has closed.
