Great course

Society Day- Course was in great condition, recent wet weather did affect the greens which were challenging. Pro?s and Staff were accommodating and looked after us. 4 ball in front delayed us due to not ringing the bells on unsighted fairways.

Well prepared course, sand in bunkers improving with quality sand. Greens remain good as does the Tee areas. Staff pleasant around the course.
Play was good and no issues.

Poor booking system & Overpriced - play twilight for best value

I personally feel for the condition of the course and facilities it's heavily overpriced - the online booking system hardly ever works for anything less than a 4-ball (and as a result missing out on the tee time you wanted), and you're in luck if you get someone at the pro-shop to answer the phone. When I got there, the staff were seemingly nonchalant about the booking system malfunction and recommended I ring next time, lol! To be fair I'm sure it's not within their remit of expertise to fix website issues (nor should it be) - but the system has been down for months now, so shrugging at a customer's frustration was offputting. I ended up going to the driving range only to find the price of a bucket has gone up by ?2 since I was last there (?9) and the auto-load bays have been replaced by standard rubber containers. Since then (two weeks ago) the price for a round has also gone up, yet I would still rather pay an ?18 twilight fee than ?9 for a bucket of balls. Somehow the math doesn't seem to add up.

The course itself is in fair condition, and I find it a well laid out and challenging 18-holes. The greens could be better mid-season, but also in fair condition (in season).
My experience has been that before and after peak season the course is "let go" a bit, the fairways are quite thick, the contours of the rough expand so much that the course becomes way tighter and the greens inconsistent.

I play Bishop Stortford with my brother-in-law once a month, and at a ?25 visitors fee, I am astounded at the difference between these two courses and can't get my head around paying a full ?30 fee for the condition, facilities and service at Abbey Hill.

I live around the corner from the club and have been considering where I would join as a member - at this point, I'd rather drive another 10 miles out and join another club with fair prices and better service.

Although this is a 'pay and play' course, and not very long, it has a number of decent challenges which add up to an enjoyable day's golf. The course is in very good condition throughout and the recent purchase of a fringe mower now means there is a first cut between fairway and rough, which has started to grow in and fulfil its purpose of stopping balls that just miss the fairway from running away into the deeper rough.

Well maintained course could be better priced they have a normal green fee £29.99 then a cheaper fee £16.99 after 3 pm and a super twilight fee after 6 pm at £9.99. this is weekend rates. then they have slightly cheaper rates if booked online and again if you have a players card different rates again to many prices and too expensive in my opinion make it simple and cheaper !

Excellent course, used normal tees thoughout most of the winter, well laid out with some good hazards. greens are very good quality, with sufficient characteristic to challenge a mid range golfer

This a great pay and play course. The pro shop is well stocked and the the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a driving range, practice putting green, practice chipping area and also a 9 hole par 3 course. The course is in good nick all year round. The best value for money is the twilight golf during the summer. There some challenging holes but it is a fantastic course to learn the game on.

Well - one of the best average courses in the area of Milton Keynes - frustrating that you can't play 9 holes here as there are 10 holes on one side of the road and 8 on the other!

Frustratingly people jump in on the 11th as its right next to the clubhouse....

a good beginners course - very forgiving (although there are some challenging holes) - last 7 holes are pretty easy though. Greens are usually ok and its a pretty good winter course.....

Given that this course is located in MK it is a surprisingly nice course at very good value for money. By no means an easy course to play but one that will suit the higher handicap. Each hole has it's own individuality. Only grumble is that they tend to cram in the odd two ball when the tee times are already taken.
