Played here on 4 April 2023. Nice course with quite a lot of ponds lakes and ditches with water if you are off line. Buggy paths were atrocious with more potholes than the roads.. Buggys were motored not electric and slow to react to the go pedal. Great value for money though. Staff were friendly, well apart from the guy behind the bar. Overall I would revisit because it was good value and a nice course for the medium to high handicapper.

Not played at Stapleford Abbotts GC before, so with a Groupon voucher, of golf for 2 people for ?29.99, would be silly to refuse. The clubhouse is a welcoming, old style converted barn, that adds a touch of character. There is no pro-shop to talk about, just a few of the essentials, tees, balls, etc, which was disappointing. Practice facilities are OK. Fairly large putting green, 2 small driving nets and large iron/chipping area, with bunkers. The course itself is a good challenge. . The teeboxes were a little uneven, but not as bad as some I've played. Fairways were in good condition after the recent rain. The greens were well tended and were deceptive, with some subtle breaks and slopes. A few though were a bit bare in places, mainly around the fringes and the bunkers looked to have a decent amount of sand in them. There are some good holes that make you think about shot selection. My favourite holes, (and if you play, yours will probably differ) were, the 5th a right to left dogleg, that has you thinking of your tee-shot, the par-3 6th, around 180yards with a pond cutting into the front corner of the green. The par-4 8th that is a severe right to left dogleg, short on the card, but a card wrecking hole if not played right. The par-3 10th that again, has water to the front of the green. The par-4 16th, with out of bounds all down the left of the fairway and the par-4 17th, a sweeping left to right fairway, that offers you a wide fairway. Hospitality of the staff on-site was excellent with a special mention to Becca and Ricki (I think I've spelt it right) for great service. Stapleford Abbotts is a good course that is well worth a visit.

Reasonable course
Good course with some interesting layouts. Some real challenging holes and good value.Tee boxes and fringes could be improved.
Greens are good but some signs of damage.
Fairways rough was good.
Some real mature trees adding to the character of the course.

The course is fairly flat, quite long and a decent mix of holes. The course is well kept, greens are not quick but run true.

A well presented course with a variety of holes and excellent greens. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, we had a good curry afterwards in the on site restaurant. The only downside, we caught up with a society on the back nine and had to wait on each tee box onward. In all a good day out and worth travelling a few extra miles to visit.

Last time here there were 2 courses
Well kept and at time very narrow. water Hazzards need to be a bit better defined and also map of holes a bit closer to the tees or in the middle of the tee. Greens were a bit slow but true. Nice course, well laid outReviewer Rating
