Really impressed
We played late October a day after torrential rain and the course was in great condition. A long and testing course, with interesting holes and some lovely views. Great value for money.Reviewer Rating

Lovely friendly club
Very friendly club, the course was in good condition but we found the greens very slow due to moisture which we found tough. Some interesting holes and hard enough for us three high handicappers. Great back baps.Reviewer Rating

The greens were very big but also very slow and felt very spongy when you walked on them.
Clubhouse is nice but the bar/restaurant when we finished at 16:00 which was disappointing.
I always enjoy playing Rye Hill but they really need to improve the greens and some of the tees.

Long Course with some Challenges
Although this is a really long course it's enjoyable but at the same time challenging, the front 9 are relatively flat but the back 9 are where more of the challenges come into play, sloping fairways need you to consider where you are going to try to aim as it will roll sideways often resulting in your next approach shot. It's well maintained but the greens are slow at the moment and some need to have more time spent on them to improve their condition, they do run slow but hopefully as the season progresses the greenkeeper will be concentrating on getting them up to speed. Overall it's a lovely course and has been surprisingly quiet each time we've played it. There are outdoor benches where you can enjoy a drink at the end of your game and plenty of room indoors if you prefer, the ladies changing rooms are really well taken care of and my hubby says the gents changing rooms are equally well kept, this is fast becoming my favourite course to play at the moment, just wish it was a bit closer to home. There is a driving range but it is not under cover but fine for warming up, there is also a good putting green.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course in need of tlc
What a lovely course but greens were really slow, needed a good cut and all bunkers out of action as no sand in them. This could be a real gem of a course but needs work to improve it and investment I assume.Reviewer Rating

Unacceptable
We are a nationwide golf society that travels the U.K. playing golf. We had originally heard good things about Rye Hill so decided we would book a golf day.Leading up to the day we started to see bad reviews of the course so we called the pro shop and asked for an honest opinion on the course condition and we were a shored the course was in good condition but the fairways are slight scorched. We took this in good faith and proceeded with the day.
When arrived the general feel was good until we got on the course, the tee boxes were so uneven the they are boarderline dangerous, fairways haven’t been cut and in places are overgrown and the green are completely unplayable not cut, diseased and bare in places.
All in all our experience is pretty embarrassing for us has we try to put the best days on for our members we had no help from the club and they just didn’t want to know.
I would avoid this course at all costs

Worst Course Played Ever
Played the course with 27 other blokes in a society game on Saturday 11th September 2021. Have to say unfortunately one of the worst courses we have ever played, fairways looked like they hadn’t been mowed in a week, greens are in poor condition they claim it’s due to weather but definitely signs of some sort of disease affecting them. The signage for the holes is poor and some of the Tee boxes are a sight to behold not a blade of grass in sight on the 17th Tee. The 16th is a complete blind shot can’t even see the fairway due to the bushes being so overgrown in front of the Tee. On a plus side the food before and after was decent.Reviewer Rating
