Poor course
Only played front 10, so maybe last 8 are much better & some of my criticism is unfair. The first 6 holes are just non descript & might as well as hit a ball up & down a long field. Probably didn't help that it was the middle of winter after a week of rain, but no difference between fairways, rough & tee areas!! Greens, just not worth putting on, forget chipping, as flags were all 3 ft from front & aprons were mostly mud. Bunkers covered in weeds & edges look like not cut for months.
7th was first proper 'golf hole' as gorse gave a bit of character. 8, 9 & 10 slightly better than first 6. It's a shame as they have so much space the course with some money spent on 'features' & more greenkeepers, could be made good.
At least the course was empty as it was minus 1 and windy.
I have played here before about 5 years ago, & remember thinking then, won't go out my way to play it again. Couldn't be more different from their adjoining neighbours.
Pro shop were friendly.

Course holding up despite the weather, greens very fast.
Rye Hill is a golf course, not a social hub. The course is long and wide so caters for high and low handicaps. Currently the country we is in excellent shape and the greens are getting faster. Pace of play is around four and a quarter hours for a four ball though most go out in twos and threes. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the Professional is a great asset.
Come and try one of the best courses in North Oxfordshire, you are sure to return.

Looking good
Long but fairly open. Some tricky greens (never be past the pin). Probably the best course in North Oxfordshire.Due to the current situation catering is not up to the usual standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful and a warm welcome is assured.
Enjoy.

Still the best course in North Oxfordshire.
The course is in excellent shape. The rough has been cutback and the greens are running true. More work is required on the bunglers but under the present conditions they are not too bad. The clubhouse is not open, except for the use of the facilities, but the staff will fetch drinks if required, after the round. A warm welcome is assured.Reviewer Rating
