Lovely course in need of tlc
What a lovely course but greens were really slow, needed a good cut and all bunkers out of action as no sand in them. This could be a real gem of a course but needs work to improve it and investment I assume.Reviewer Rating

Really impressed
We played late October a day after torrential rain and the course was in great condition. A long and testing course, with interesting holes and some lovely views. Great value for money.Reviewer Rating

Lovely friendly club
Very friendly club, the course was in good condition but we found the greens very slow due to moisture which we found tough. Some interesting holes and hard enough for us three high handicappers. Great back baps.Reviewer Rating

Long Course with some Challenges
Although this is a really long course it's enjoyable but at the same time challenging, the front 9 are relatively flat but the back 9 are where more of the challenges come into play, sloping fairways need you to consider where you are going to try to aim as it will roll sideways often resulting in your next approach shot. It's well maintained but the greens are slow at the moment and some need to have more time spent on them to improve their condition, they do run slow but hopefully as the season progresses the greenkeeper will be concentrating on getting them up to speed. Overall it's a lovely course and has been surprisingly quiet each time we've played it. There are outdoor benches where you can enjoy a drink at the end of your game and plenty of room indoors if you prefer, the ladies changing rooms are really well taken care of and my hubby says the gents changing rooms are equally well kept, this is fast becoming my favourite course to play at the moment, just wish it was a bit closer to home. There is a driving range but it is not under cover but fine for warming up, there is also a good putting green.Reviewer Rating

Long and challenging
Currently the course is using the forward tees which makes it easier for medium to high handicaps. Off the full course length it challenges the best, the Europro Tour has played here. The course is currently showing signs of wear due to the weather and it's popularity but will soon be back to its best.

Excellent Value
Summary: Friendly staff, Long parkland course, a bit scruffy here and there, but overall worth the money. We were welcomed with Bacon sandwiches, and coffees with good prompt service. The pro shop were relaxed and friendly. Good start.
We teed up not expecting much, as some reviews have indicated poor greens and tee boxes etc. We were pleasantly surprised with the condition and beauty of the course, and were very happy with the price.
Don’t get me wrong, the greens and tee boxes could have done with a bit of TLC, but absolutely playable for the average handicap golfer, for this price.
The length of the course was very demanding, but open enough to spray some drives and not be penalised too harshly. I imagine if they grow the rough up and add wind it would be brutal.
The one thing I did notice was the worm holes on the tees and surrounding areas, and the animal damage. It indicates a lack of pesticide investment, which some would argue is a good thing, I sit on the fence on that one, it just looks a bit scruffy!
We had a great day, I am an 8 handicap, and it was good enough for me, I don’t see how anyone can really complain for the price.

Cracker
I really enjoyed this course, it was in fantastic condition. Most of the holes are tree lined, so you have to be accurate .
Equally accuracy to the greens is important, as they are quite small in places & a lot of them have drop offs to the back & sides.
The back 9 is better than the front 9, particularly 13 to 16
10/10 to Ian the greenkeeper, who looked after me as I had arrived before the pro shop was open. He couldn't have been more helpful.
I found it a really fair test of golf & would recommend it to beginners & more advanced golfers.

Great testing course
Set in a rolling landscape, the course is long and challenging. Every hole is unique and ?hidden? from the rest of the course. If it's windy you'll know it!This has to be the best value for money golf in Oxfordshire, recommended.
