have played this course 3 times now and its so good i have joined as a full member. I can only assume previous reports of poor staffing is from a while ago as i have found everyone to be extremely friendly and helpfull. the course is challenging, in the wind it seems a awful lot longer, the greens are spot on and if you play a wayward shot the course will bite you in the rear.

A credit to the green keeping staff as this is a fantastic course all year round, the greens are superb. With very good facilities this course is well worth a visit if you are in the area,

I played Rye Hill today for the first time and was very impressed indeed.

It is situated in a very peaceful picturesque part of Oxfordshire but still very easy to get to.

The golf course was in excellent condition, the fairways are very lush with very good drainage( my trousers were very clean afterwards) probably best the fairways I've played this year! The greens are also very very good, big and undulating so some thought had to be put in before putting.

Overall I found Rye Hill to be a very good test for all golfers and a very enjoyable round was had.

Great value as well £17.50 including a sleeve of balls and a pint afterwards.

I look forward to playing it again soon!

the course is an excellent challenge, the breeze always adds variation to how the course plays. i have been playing there for nearly two years now and its an ever improving venue. the new owners are doing really good things. the shop staff are also first class, always helpful. they are now making some very good improvements to an already good track. for mid to low handi's, i strongly advise you give it a go!

I found this a very challenging course. The views from the sixth fairway are fantastic and the view in the valley of the 14th is better than any i have ever seen. I have since made this my regular playing venue

Best in the area

Opened in 1973, a traditional 3 x par 5, 3 x par 3 and the remainder par 4. 6768 yards off white, 6572 off yellow and 5982 off gold (golden oldies). The ladies compete over 5584 yards.
A parkland course with generous fairways, a few strategically placed bunkers and greens which need thinking about. Apart from a few patches of ?hay? the longest rough is about 3 - 4 inches the main hazard is the gorse which lines some of the fairways. Ideal for Societies as wayward balls are easily found and play is not held up.
Currently the greens are being prepared for the summer and are playing about 8, by summer they will be 10 -12. The course is looking well manicured.
The Clubhouse has a Pro Shop, bar restaurant where bacon rolls etc can be purchased and Societies catered for. The main emphasis is playing golf, not a social hub,
All of the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. There are several other courses within the area, I have been a member at Rye Hill since it opened which says it all.
