Nice Course, Shocking Condition
Was looking forward to playing a new course and one that hosts a PGA euro pro tour event to boot. While the course has some interesting holes and is a decent challenge the current condition is awful. I've seen better conditioned 1st cuts of rough compared to the fairways here, they were truly in an awful state. Some of the greens were ok, but others were bobbly and there seems to be a disregard to repairing pitch marks. Like wise the tee boxes were scruffy, covered in divots and generally uneven. It looks and feels like a club on the way out or a lack of decent green keepersThis course should be so much better, and probably in previous seasons gone by it has, but it will take some effort to get this back into a decent playing condition. I played The Darenth 1-2 weeks earlier and the condition of the two courses is night and day.
I'd avoid playing Park Wood until they sort out the condition of the course, hopefully come 2021 they may have this back to a standard to which you would be happy to pay to play on but they will struggle to get this back in 2020.

Nice day out
Park Wood is a simple enough course - what I mean is by that is that is straight forward, not overly interesting, but not bland either. I've always enjoyed a game there, but I tend to look for other available courses beforehand. I've never had reason to say the course was presented in poor condition, but I've never played it and had the wow factor either. It's the sort of course that get's a 6 or 7 for most things.Reviewer Rating

Park Wood Golf Club
Played Park Wood after a wet spell, carry only. It was very muddy on fairways and greens were soggy. The condition of the course wasn't too bad considering but would only go back when it has had a chance to dry out.Reviewer Rating

Muddy and Winter tees
It hasn't rained that much or so I thought but this course had plenty of worm casts on the tees (playing off winter tees) and ball was not running anywhere. Greens were ok but some were very soft. First time this winter that playing pick and clean and there was a few places where it was soft and muddy on the fairway. Not going to bother coming back here unless it is bone dry everywhere else.Reviewer Rating

Challenging layout, could be great with some TLC
This is a classic, challenging , tree-lined course that has been used in the past for Euro Pro tour events and it is certainly a muscular course. When we played the front nice had not been cut meaning the tees and fariways were scrappy but the back nine had been cut and looked great. The greens need work however; they were very slow and bumpy. The bunkers are unusual in that there are large grass edges. This has the potential to be a great course with better care. It is a real challenge off the back tees; at nearly 6800 yards you can understand why it has been used for pro events.Reviewer Rating
