Pretty ordinary course. Its really short, and very tight with thick prickle bushes and stinging nettles under all the trees. If you are wayward, its more often than not a lost ball. Worst of all was the amount of people they jammed on to the course. 3 groups often backed up on every tee.

The course is not bad and was in good condition when we played. However the round was very slow and there seemed to be a fiar few hackers on the course wirth poor etiquette.

Unfortunately the fairways had not been mowed. Mowing started as we played the 18th hole. The course could have been so much better. I estimated that no maintenance had been done for weeks rather than days.

My local ground because of limited staff the conditions is poor but i give credit to the grounds men, fairly narrow course so you have to be accurate. loads of people playing without paying which invites loads of waves and strays. No proper moniitoring

It has its place in the world

The negative...
- Tee boxes aren't in great condition.
- Fairway grass is too long. Some of it feels like you are in light rough.
- Greens are in bad condition and are unrealistically slow.
- The clientele don't seem to care about repairing pitchmarks
- Bunkers are just not maintained properly.

The positive...
- Price is reasonable
- Some very tight and challenging holes for any level of player
- Superb course design
- No stuffy dress code
- Open to all

Summary...
I generally play at private clubs and if you are used to courses in very good condition you will be disappointed. However, this is a low priced, municipal course and expectations should be set accordingly. This is a fabulous facility for the beginner, high handicapper or anyone returning to the game after a long break. It's worth having a look if you're a better player, the challenging layout might just tempt you back. It has its place in the world... it's open, accessible, cheap and will attract non-golfers and beginners as well as more regular golfers. Despite the condition, I actually enjoyed my round and the challenge. I'll definitely be back as I have a son who has just taken up the game and for this it is perfect.
I couldn't help thinking that with just a bit more maintenance and management this course could be one of the best.... but then again, it wouldn't serve the community as it does today.

At certain times, for £11 the course is a bargain, at full price for £19 it's a bit less bright and breezy but still good fun. It's challenging enough to feel good. Tee to green it's a fair track but the damage to the greens (inconsiderate people please learn to repair a pitchmark on the green!) can make these a little unpredictable. Good fun and usually quiet

18 holes golf course with a caravan site. There are few very challenging holes. Reasonably priced for 18 holes. Most of the bunkers are always out commissioned. The greens and fairways have improved over the year.

Give it a go!

Had not played here for at least 10 years. Surprised by how good condition the course was in. Some challenging holes, narrow in places, but great value for what it is. will play here again
