Decent course. Needs work doing on it

I've played here many times. It's a well designed course actually, with some great holes like the 4th, 6th, 8th, 14th and 18th especially, and some very tricky holes. However when we recently played the course was in need of some attention. I appreciate due to current circumstances many courses have been closed - but the greens need weeding badly, and forking. Some holes had very kept fairways, and rough that was worse than normal, and sadly one of the greens may have been vandalised. Friendly girl working on reception though and a nice laid back environment as usual here.

Average park course

Not a great condition course which adds to the challenge of a very tight, technical course, very friendly and welcoming

Cut my teeth on this course many moons ago. A bit scruffy, but still devilish. Watch out for the footgolf flags and ensure you are going for the green.

This course is very hard despite being short. It does play longer than the yardage.

Well worth a go, but dangers exist on all holes

I enjoyed the round, the course was quiet which allowed me to go round in just over 3 hours. Practice facilities weren't great, so I went straight out on the course.

Ilford is a narrow and fairly flat course. There are about 3 holes played over the river that runs through the course which is quite fun. The fairways can therefore become water-logged during bad weather spells and we've played before with temporary greens which isn't good. On one occasion it was very bad but the guy in the Club Shop wouldn't give us a discount or appease us. He isn't always the most approachable - i'm not sure who's in club shop this year (I'm just submitting old score cards!). The groundskeepers are quite friendly.

To be fair the course was in fairly good condition for the time of year but a few of the greens were a little bare in places. The course is relatively flat and has some variety with some nice views as you progress around the lake. One criticism would be the noise of the adjacent industrial park and the main road but having said that its only really noticeable on a couple of holes. At a £1 a hole on a week day its good value. Just don\'t expect any food or a beer in the clubhouse afterwards as the \"Hut\" only has a vending machine for dtinks.
