Very late review as I took a society here last September. 12 of us played handicaps 8-28 and we loved it. Not overly difficult but then again not much wind the day we played. Spectacular views and decent value for money if you play twice as it's a day rate. Highly recommended

Great golf course, the signature hole I think it's the 5th is amazing. The heather eats balls for breakfast, great steak and ale pie in the clubhouse.

We'd heard lots of good things about Isle of Purbeck GC before we got here, and sometimes that can mean the course struggles to live up to it's lofty expectations. That wasn't the case with Isle of Purbeck.

There are so many great looking holes on this course, and the one shame about our round here was the fact that 17 of the 18 holes played were on temporary greens. It just means that we're now arranging for a return trip in a couple of months time, and we're talking about a course that is a 2 hour drive away.

The 5th hole is especially pretty. Just looking at it purely as a golf hole, you play to a partially hidden fairway, followed by an approach that narrows the closer you get to the green. Add in the views down to the water, with Bournemouth and Poole Harbour in the distance, and you have one spectacular hole.

The best views may well be from the clubhouse though, which is also as pleasant a 19th hole that you could wish to finish off a round of golf.

The one downside would be having to pay £25 for a course that had 17 temporary greens, but while I still think that that's too expensive, we were glad we went through with the round.

Would I recommend Isle of Purbeck? Most definitely.

A decent round of golf considering the weather ! Very quiet round which suited us and at £25 not a bad price for a quality course still in great nick ! Greens were in excellent condition and a very testing course in the windy conditions. Course offers stunning views and has some great interesting holes that are a test for any golfer. Will certainly play again. Plenty of work being carried out by ground staff to keep it open going into the Winter. Well done to all staff.

Very testing course for the high handicapper and the way I played it for mid handicappers too!!Im not sure what catagory fits this course as its not quite a links but it certainly isnt a parkland course either. The views over Poole Harbour and the surrounding countryside are stunning if the sun is out however it can be a very different challenge if the weather is unkind.

Played here recently, although the first 3 holes were fairly boring the rest of the course was fantastic, interesting and really challenging especially with the wind i endured.
there was deer on the course which made me really appreciate being out in nature and the views were stunning overlooking the bay and harbour.the view from the club house was incredible.i found the members really warm and friendly and will definitely be back!
the 5th,6th and 10th (with its tree amphitheatre) were my favourites!

This is really a good test of Golf and is best played without the wind, I think it has the best 4 par three's in the South West and is a definate must to play.

This is a lovely course. Made tough by the undulating farways and a few blind tee shots. Accuracy is the key! Very friendly and the 9 hole Dene Course is great for teenager's learning the game.

If you end up having a bad game, pause and take in the views. They are breathtaking!

Great Course & Views

Great course and amazing views on a day with not a cloud in the sky. I?d heard many reports that the condition of Isle of Purbeck was really poor so was not expecting much even though the green fee including coffee and a bacon bap was only ?25. The greens were fine and relatively quick and the bunkers were in good condition - the fairways were very poor but as it was preferred lies it didn?t make much difference to my golf. As this was my last round pre lockdown it was actually a really good value golf day with amazing weather for early November.

Disappointing

Returning to the course after 25 year gap. Fairways totally destroyed. Still the views are tremendous and the greens improving from obvious damage. Grass seed has been scattered on some fairways, but no use this year,
