Those views!
This golf course has the natural attributes to be one of the best in the world. The views are just incredible. It's an effort just to tear yourself away and actually hit the thing when standing on the 5th tee.I've been playing it once a year for about five years and the investments are starting to bear fruit. The fairways are better. The gorse is being cut back so it isnt quite so punitive. I can't wait to come back next year.
Also, I found the people in pro shop and the bar to be hugely welcoming this year. All in all, a hell of a day's golf.

Isle of Purbeck
A great day out. The course is challenging with some stunning holes, such as the 5th a par 4 played out on a Peninsular. The views are amazing it’s a beautiful part of Dorset. The greens showed some signs of improvement from last year with a better coverage of grass but still pretty slow. Some of the slopes and run offs on the fairways are severe, be prepared to loose a few balls.Reviewer Rating

Mr
P.ahed the course this week after a long absence and was looking forward to playing as I had great memories of a fantastic test of golfWhilst the greens were recovering from it would be unfair to rate them but they were relatively quick which was a good sign
Fairways were absolutely awful and can’t see a time this summer where it would be possible to play anything but winter rules
It’s a great shame as this has the potential to be one of the countries great courses with a fantastic setting and spectacular holes
Everyone should play this course once in their lives and my message to the owners are please restore this course to a co diction it deserves whatever it takes - it’s a national treasure and should be presented as such

Great Course & Views
Great course and amazing views on a day with not a cloud in the sky. I?d heard many reports that the condition of Isle of Purbeck was really poor so was not expecting much even though the green fee including coffee and a bacon bap was only ?25. The greens were fine and relatively quick and the bunkers were in good condition - the fairways were very poor but as it was preferred lies it didn't make much difference to my golf. As this was my last round pre lockdown it was actually a really good value golf day with amazing weather for early November.Reviewer Rating

We'd heard lots of good things about Isle of Purbeck GC before we got here, and sometimes that can mean the course struggles to live up to it's lofty expectations. That wasn't the case with Isle of Purbeck.
There are so many great looking holes on this course, and the one shame about our round here was the fact that 17 of the 18 holes played were on temporary greens. It just means that we're now arranging for a return trip in a couple of months time, and we're talking about a course that is a 2 hour drive away.
The 5th hole is especially pretty. Just looking at it purely as a golf hole, you play to a partially hidden fairway, followed by an approach that narrows the closer you get to the green. Add in the views down to the water, with Bournemouth and Poole Harbour in the distance, and you have one spectacular hole.
The best views may well be from the clubhouse though, which is also as pleasant a 19th hole that you could wish to finish off a round of golf.
The one downside would be having to pay £25 for a course that had 17 temporary greens, but while I still think that that's too expensive, we were glad we went through with the round.
Would I recommend Isle of Purbeck? Most definitely.
