What the club says: Knighton Heath Golf Club is situated just north of Poole and it is a fine heath land golf course noted for its warm welcome to members and visitors alike, offering some of the best golf in Dorset. The course measures 6065 yards from the back, (blue), tees but do not let this fool you into thinking it will be easy! You will need to plot your way around the course which is heavily tree-lined with some narrow fairways. The greens are always in superb condition and the course presents an excellent test of golf for players of all standards. The ladies course measures 5474 yards.

This is not a course for high handicappers. Genuine heathland, with huge pine trees and plenty of heather/gorse - you are penalised for inaccurate fairway shots. It favours big hitters and those with a well-balanced set of skills as there is a variety of challenges, including the many bunkers scattered across the entire course. No water but a ditch on the 12th. The 18th features a tee shot over the road leading to the car park. The green is also surrounded by three bunkers so an accurate tee shot is vital.

As a local, it's taken me a while to play here but glad I did. A hidden gem, a golf course which really gets you thinking. Lots of challenge with tight fairways, undulations, mature pines and bunkering.
Only wonder is a few of the par 3s are very short and on a still day, quite benign.
Friendly welcome in the pro shop and good value twilight rate. Thank you.

The fairways and greens were kept in excellent condition and the staff were very pleasant. The holes were challenging yet interesting and the fairways were well maintained.

Excellent course. Well worth the visit.
Need to play cleverly. If you are not accurate with your driver, settle for a 5 wood or a rescue.

A true heathland course, offering a variety of challenges for all level of golfers. The many pine trees can cause problems if you hit a wayward ball into the rough and some of the fairways slope deceptively so you have to play a strategic game, mapping your way around the course.

Excellent course - need to hit straight!
Great course - well worth a visit. Avoid wayward shots - or take plenty of spare balls.

Great views & interesting holes
Enjoyed a first-time twilight visit on Saturday evening for ?30 which is good value I think. Great weather helped but the views were really good and I expect it could be pretty windy as the course is quite high up and some holes are fairly exposed. The course generally presented nicely with heather, majestic pines and some gorse too, and though the fairways were pretty rugged most of the time it didn't affect the experience. Greens were good without being anything special but lots of subtle slopes makes for some challenging reads. Varied layout with some interesting holes. We had the place to ourselves but otherwise seemed friendly towards visitors. I don't live locally and there are so many other good courses to try in the area, but I would return.

Great course and variety of holes
This is the second time I've played the course. I really enjoyed it this time as I was playing with some members. The greens were great and on some of the greens the breaks were really difficult to read. Plenty of hills in places to get the heart pumping.

Challenging heathland course
This is a tough course, due to narrow fairways, lined with pine trees, and heather on many of the slopes. Lots of fun to play, however, as very varied and a good combination of par 3s,4s and 5s. The 18th is a tricky Par 3, hitting over a road, with the green surrounded by bunkers so you can't relax until you're in the clubhouse!
