Very quiet due to the heat and the Open championship, pretty much had the course to ourselves so no pressure on pace of play. Fairways rock hard and baked, but greens in very good nick and ran true considering. Bunkers inconsistent, some rock hard with little sand in, others more approaching a standard you'd expect

Twilight

Afternoon round with friends. Was informed we had to have my buggy back by 18.00 or I would not be able to retrieve my car keys, only to realise that the buggy only had 1 speed, and I've seen quicker snails. Course is interesting, but penal for anything off line. Reload,, not even worth looking ! Some good par ?s and par 4?s and overall a course worth the effort. Would recommend.

Bit surprised at some of the negative reviews below. Played here on twilight rate of £23 teeing off around 5pm in a 2 ball. 3 lads in front let us through on the 2nd, then had a clear run for rest of the round. In terms of the course, there was the odd bit of damage to a couple of fairways (badgers?) and a couple of the bunkers could have had a little more, or better sand in, but otherwise course was in excellent nick. Greens were a little furry and slow but true enough if you gave the ball a hit. They were also comparatively small which really tested your approach play. Course itself is a little up and down to start with but gets more interesting the further round you get. Having now seen it, I'd like to play it again, and at the rate paid above, it's a bit of a steal.

Couse work in a fair condition, but some additional work required on the Greens and bunkers ( not enough sand) not quite worth the ?43.00, more like a ?35 max

Played the course end of April and fairways were in good condition but the greens were still recovering from coring. Greens were not in good condition, patchy and did not run true, hopefully they will improve in the summer. Good variation of holes particularly par 3 11 and 18 and the par 5's. Would go back.

wedding venue

The Darenth as it now likes to be known is surely lovely for the weddings it wants, not golfers. The course was chewed up by badgers, the greens were literally covered in footprints and very uneven, they had a starter who had been appointed but was still waiting his uniform...too many rules not enough care. Wont be using again

Disappointed

Website states well drained, open all year course. The mud on my trolley was the worst I've ever seen, The course is suffering serious damage from badgers and crows which I can accept but, paying full price l think is unfair. Most of the tee boxes and greens are roped off making play very slow with the trolley. As you can't book online and forced to phone, the proshop should have given a better picture of course condition.

Shocking condition

Nice refurbished club house, acceptable greens, however the rest of the course is in shocking condition. Fairways are torn to pieces, extremely muddy everywhere, tee boxes are 5 foot wide and in poor condition, bunkers are rock solid and poorly maintained. The course has been haphazardly roped off everywhere, in some cases a tripping hazard when trying to access the tee boxes. On the first tee the starter jobsworth gives you a ten minute lecture on course etiquette, but then no-one is marshalling out on the course preventing slow play from the members? Very disappointing and not worth the £32 mid week green fee.

Worst ever

The course was in a very bad state and was no where near value for money
Some areas were very dangerous to walk on but you had no choice if you wanted to get to the next tee box. The greens that were already small have been made smaller.
Badgers are a huge problem on the course and the staff are obviously struggling to cope with this
I have played this course many times and enjoyed the challenge but it is now clear that the management see this as a wedding venue and not a golf course. I will not play here again
