Shocking condition

Nice refurbished club house, acceptable greens, however the rest of the course is in shocking condition. Fairways are torn to pieces, extremely muddy everywhere, tee boxes are 5 foot wide and in poor condition, bunkers are rock solid and poorly maintained. The course has been haphazardly roped off everywhere, in some cases a tripping hazard when trying to access the tee boxes. On the first tee the starter jobsworth gives you a ten minute lecture on course etiquette, but then no-one is marshalling out on the course preventing slow play from the members? Very disappointing and not worth the £32 mid week green fee.

Worst ever

The course was in a very bad state and was no where near value for money
Some areas were very dangerous to walk on but you had no choice if you wanted to get to the next tee box. The greens that were already small have been made smaller.
Badgers are a huge problem on the course and the staff are obviously struggling to cope with this
I have played this course many times and enjoyed the challenge but it is now clear that the management see this as a wedding venue and not a golf course. I will not play here again

Winter weather but terrible upkeep

Course was in terrible condition.
Rakes in bunkers either missing or broken.
Parts of fairway netted off and much of the course had areas around fringes of green dug up and unplayable. This was allegedly due to magpies causing the damage.

?39 for a round is too much for the condition of the course.

disappointing golf course

on my recommendation took two colleagues to the course ,one of which has his own motability buggy.after paying the green fees of ?25 each we were about to go to the 1st Te,.we were then advised by the starter that THE OWNER does not allow individual buggies but will let you purchase a club buggy ,no reason given for not accommodating injured players!..We were not advised that the green staff were Hole Tining the greens and there was no reduction in the green fee .The course was in good condition however NO SECOND CUT FROM THE FAIRWAYS and the long grass would mean lost balls and time consumption looking for them. The green staff also left longer grass growing in the middle of some of the fairways, this meant good shots would be punished and stopped from running as far as they would from the Tee. In summation a very disappointing day out. Speaking to one of the members on the course, his opinion was that the owner is more interested in catering for Wedding receptions than the running and condition of the course!.

Turned up after booking through the pro at the club. We were a 3 ball and paid £25 each as seniors. No mention from the pro shop that the greens were being HolevTined, No reduction in our green fees and one hole unplayable while greenkeepers were Hole tining the 7th green. Unnecessary rough with no 2nd cut causing delays finding balls 12 yards off of most fairways, causing slow play. Fairways interrupted witlh 30/40 yard rough growing in the middle of the fairways .. WHY?..seems the owner is more interested in welcoming wedding parties than organising a proper maintained Golf Course. The owner also doesn’t allow individual buggies but is happy to charge for course buggies. Over all a disappointing visit to a below average golf course

Very poor condition.

Course was not in good condition. Ignoring the work that is currently being carried out, an awful lot more needs doing. Tree roots and bare patches on greens etc. worn areas everywhere. Played before when it was in much better condition. Bacon roll consisted of 1 rasher of streaky bacon in a tiny ciabatta type roll. We started at 2 and were told we had to be back by 6 or lose our car keys. ( they were left with the barman !) Not one of the best I've played this year.

wedding venue

The Darenth as it now likes to be known is surely lovely for the weddings it wants, not golfers. The course was chewed up by badgers, the greens were literally covered in footprints and very uneven, they had a starter who had been appointed but was still waiting his uniform...too many rules not enough care. Wont be using again

Played the course end of March and it is still recovering from the winter. The course has dried out well but grass is patchy in areas. The green were patchy to and inconsistent. No temporary tees. Would go back in the summer.
