Played the course last sunday and considering the recent weather it was in very good condition. Not too challenging but still makes you think about your shot.Staff very polite and facilities great. Will certainly be back

Played this week (for the first time in years). The course is much drier than it used to be so they must have resolved some drainage issues. Greens in top condition for the time of year and overall a tricky course well maintained and an excellent challenge. Improvements to the facilities are fabulous, apparently with more to come (new pro shop and changing rooms I am told). Great place to go and just socialise and eat with the family if it is too cold for Golf!

I had not played at Blacknest for at least 3 years, the change there is remarkable and it offers great value on and off the course. Staff very friendly, doesn't have that "stuffy members only" feel and the course is varied and challenging, with some shorter holes so you get round in good time. The club house is transformed with a really relaxing atmosphere and good food have been back with the family, just for lunch- superb.

A fantastic course. Not too long with some challenging holes. Despite the wet weather the greens were in good condition. A pretty setting and excellent clubhouse. Great service from all the friendly staff members. The venue is a credit to the obviously hard working team.

A great course with some tricky holes. The welcome is one of the best I have seen and the food is excellent. Has a really great feel to it rather than the stuffy atmosphere in some clubs. Even for a low handicap, you have to chose your shots carefully. Will be going back.

Superb value for money, a testing course dispite not being a long course. I was pleasantly surprised that it was in such good condition at this time of year.
Looks as if lots of work has been done on the course as well as the clubhouse. Very friendly staff, will certainly be back soon.

Great course, not too long but with some testing, pretty holes. Greens in good condition especially for this time of year. Clubhouse is friendly and tastefully refurbished. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced- nice to meet family for lunch post golf. All in all, great value for money both on and off the course.

Fantastic little course in beautiful surroundings. Having visited a lot of pay & play courses this summer I have to say this is excellent value for money. A stunning setting and a challenging course (handicap: 22). Friendly service and nicely re-furbished clubhouse. It sounds like it struggled in winter months in the past, but members glowing about recent investment and quality of the course. Will be back next week!

Great little course, not long but very challanging due to the amount of water hazards, greens in very good nick, very peaceful surroundings with lots of wildlife, new driving range mats and balls, very smart clubhouse with very friendly staff & best bacon roll I've had in years.
Not done a review before but felt I had to due to the previous reviews

I live in fleet, and invited my brothers from Newbury Berkshire, for a game of golf,we play a lot of golf different courses, and this course being very reasonably priced we thought would be fun to try,but it wasn't!! It was fantastic, the warmest welcome from the start, the course was challenging, beautifully surrounded, well looked after, any one that moans about not being "cut enough"should play some ware else.and after was treated like kings to make sure we were happy, lovely staff, brilliant service, and all round in my opinion the best days golf I've had in years!! Keep it up blacknest!!

Blacknest is a picturesque course with some really nice looking holes. There is a good amount of water hazards and on a warm day the odd carp or two can be seen cruising the surface in some. The course can get very wet during winter months but the new owners and staff our working hard to add drainage around the course. It has a good variety of holes with some more challenging than others. All in all a pleasant and relaxing place to spend some time whilst indulging in our hobby.
