not the worst course around - greens need some TLC but super friendly staff and nice place to knock the ball around

Not worth the money - poor conditions
Do not part with your 35 pounds for a round here... highly overpriced given the current state of the course (it could be due to the lack of maintenance during lockdown), but the greens are pitch marked resulting in your ball bobbling. Uneven tee boxes were surrounded by discarded beer bottles, cans, and coffee cups (clearly from the previous day as we played early on a Sunday), which the Greenkeepers hadn't bothered to pick up that morning. It is also playing very slow currently as the tee times don't appear to be adequately spaced out. The actual course layout is quite picturesque, so it's not all doom and gloom!Reviewer Rating

Don't waste your money
This golf course is rubbish! It's not in good condition at all. The tees aren't level, and the greens are bumpy. Don't part with your hard earned money to play this course.Reviewer Rating

Great course for the money
was very pleased with the course condition, Greens could do with some TLC very bumpy but overall good course. Teetime were 2 mins apart so the course was very backlogged and the pace of play was extremely slow(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 102 Handicap: 26.7)

Bird Hills is getting back to normal, post Covid-19 and the course is now starting to look like it's old self. Definitely needed the recent rain to bring the course back to life. Love playing here and the challenge of my nemesis holes 9th and 16th may finally have been laid to rest. Looking forward to getting competitions back to pit my skills against stronger players and learn from them. If you've not played here. It's well worth a visit. Friendly staff all throughout the grounds, from greenkeepers to catering staff, just what you want from a golf club.

Great Value
Recent rain means conditions are tough. This course is great value but very very busy and play is slow.(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 91 Handicap: 17.7)

Good round with new clubs. Sunny front nine, heavens opened for back nine. Consistent strikes putting could have been better

I have played this course over the last ten years and it is slowly getting worse and worse and not the cost of £29.50 its a joke.
Overall fairway condition poor greens terrible and tee greens rock hard..The place looks like it has no ground staff to keep it up to scratch.I know its been a dry summer but nothing seems to have been watered for weeks.
Also i agree with another reviewer that the drainage is non existent when the course is wet.Probably would not go back until i hear they have improved the course.There is much better courses in Berkshire for less money than this place.
