What the club says: Situated in the heart of Maidenhead you will find it hard to believe the town centre is only a five minute walk away. Originally opened for play in December 1896, the course has seen many improvements such as the recently implemented fairway watering scheme. At 6364 yds, Maidenhead Golf Course is challenging test with well protected greens. Set in 150 acres of splendid woodland, the fairways are reasonably flat and provide an enjoyable walk.

Extremely friendly golf club with a well maintained course and greens, not too busy midweek so a good option for circa ?50.

First time round here. Cracking course. Decent amount of variety despite being comparatively flat so a nice easy walk. Greens were excellent and rolled really well. Also have sprinklers on fairways so first green ones I'd seen in a while. Nice welcome in the pro-shop and decent clubhouse/bar. Will head back in due course.

125 years and still going strong

It's Maidenhead GC's 125th Anniversary and we played as part of their Society Organisers day. We were greeted and offered water, and food for the round before the coffee and bacon roll arrived. We were welcomed on the 1st tee by the club captain before commencement of our round. Course was in excellent conditions with true and quick greens. After the round there was a BBQ and prize giving.

The whole day was very well organised with the course provided a good challenge to players of all abilities. Can wait to go back later in the year.

Very nice course

Played this course several times and really like it. Great location, only 20 min. from Heathrow you find such a lovely course. The Pro and his assistant are very helpful and you get really good hire clubs. Will definetely go back there.

Nice and flat

Sadly I did not play my best golf - far from it in fact - so my opinion of this course will not be that high as perhaps it should be.
Course still very brown and dry, whereas other courses are now greening up

First time playing Maidenhead, home club Holywood, Co. Down. Being on a week's visit Steve, professional, sorted me out with a bag of clubs and trolley. Clubs were clean and in excellent condition. The first hole eases one into the round with an index of 9. The fairways were firm for playing off and the greens quickish, but true. I found the greens challenging; there were undulations one didn't directly see.
Some par 4's one would be pleased to walk off with a 5. This due to length and some surprise 'dips' on the fairways. One of the par 3's,13th signature, is deceptive .. take a club more.
Overall a very enjoyable round made more enjoyable by the two members who accompanied me on the back nine.

Played in glorious sunshine 28th Sept. Course in beautiful condition with some particularly striking holes. Thought the greens were quite slow, but the overall course was very nice indeed, quite a good test of golf. No need for buggies as it is not hilly and the walks between holes are short. Barman in clubhouse particularly welcoming ; good food

The course is in EXCELLENT condition, with the greens a match for any in the area - very fast and true. Hard and closely cut fairways give a 'links-y' feel to many holes bringing into play bunkers that you may consider just outside your range. While not the longest course around (6338 off the Whites, Par 70), Maidenhead has plenty to defend itself and make you earn a good score. A very warm welcome awaited me in the Pro shop and the bar, where the food was very good, in both quality and value. A thoroughly enjoyable morning and I look forward to my next game there.

Most of the tees and all of the fairways were in excellent condition, despite the recent wintery weather. The greens, however, were not just in excellent condition, they were superb! (except for the 1 temporary green, but we won't mention that!) Lovely sandwich

Played Maidenhead GC recently as they had a nice twilight offer midweek. I found it a nice course, very well maintained, great greens. A few really challenging holes and an enjoyable round. Special mention for the yardage markers on the sprinkler heads across the course....too few course do this and its a real aid for the first time visitor. I will play here again.

I played this for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The fairways are quite forgiving but the greens are very quick and alway protected very well by bunkers. the course is not long, however, there are two very long par fours which when windy makes it extremely difficult to be on the green in two unless you are a big hitter as they are 457 and 467 yards respectively. The course was peaceful and you would never know you are a two minute drive from maidenhead town centre.
